Anyone with IP time in the 135 who is in need of steady work, I am leaving my sim instructor position in Oklahoma to fly for SWA. I can put you in touch with my boss if you want the work. The pay is ok and it has benefits. The base is a bit isolated, but not so bad if you have a wife and kids. Anyways PM me with any questions.

You were a sim instructor at Altus? You've got to be doing cartwheels now that you're starting class at SWA. Congrats!

How long have you been there???

Seing as I (and any other experienced -135 folks here) have spent about nine months (95-00 timeframe) of my life in Altus in training status, I propably know you by name. I was sad to see Jay Price go. I also remember Ed Trujillo and Scott Greenwood(?). I don't recall any other names but the faces are still alive and well.

Reminds me of the 'ole "What can you tell me about Base X?" question. If you got this response:

"It's a great place to raise a family"

or this response:

"It's great if you like to hunt and fish"

it meant "It's isolated from civilization and there's nothing to do there."

Vance was a "great place to raise a family" too. :)

Tony, there were a couple of others that I've also heard:

"If you like the outdoors, you'll love it there."

or

"The crime rate's so low that you don't even need to lock your doors."

Give me the big city any day of the week. As Randy Newman sang, I love LA.

How'd ya like Omaha?? :)

I was just TDY to Omahaha; my PCS locations during that assignment were Prince Sultan AB, Riyadh Mil, Prince Sultan AB, Mildenhall, Prince Sultan AB, Souda Bay, and Prince Sultan AB. Did I mention Prince Sultan AB? :D
Seriously tho, Omahaha was the minimum sized town that I could live in. At least they had a lot of good golf courses there.

Jay Price left a few years ago --too bad he was so funny-- Ed is still there. I have only been teaching for two years, so I may not know you. But if you have been there recently I was the "young" guy!

Hi!

I was at Grand Forks AFB, another one of those bases with special features, like the lack of people, or anything to do.

We used to sit and watch the Weather Channel, and wish we lived in Fargo.

The weather in Fargo was better. Every day.

I hope YOUR weather now is better than GFK, or Fargo!
