Hey guys!
My wife drives a 2000 Jetta TDI Diesel. Gotta say that it's not a bad little car. That da@n car gets like 50 mpg and at the moment, Diesel is cheaper than gas in this part of west Texas. The commute to work for her is 60 miles round trip since we live in the country, so going 500 miles on $16.00 worth of fuel isn't bad. Guess I should take a lesson from empenage's boss and see if the FBO will let us start putting Jet-A in our cars. We're a diesel family now since I've been driving a 1997 Ford F-350 powerstroke for the last 210,000 miles since I still help out on the family farm when I'm not in the air. Gotta agree with many of the previous posts about the gender of Jetta drivers- seems to be mostly female around the area for whatever reason. Ya'll take care!

What's with knockin' the Jetta!!?? I drive a '99 and it's not that bad! I'm not gay or super liberal either. There are worse cars to be driving, and at least I don't have a car payment! When I go back to flying full time, I may have to downgrade to a '77 Beetle!

BTW- Most Jetta drivers I know are male and none have the rainbow sticker on the back!

I like my Jetta. Great gas mileage, no car payment, didn't cost too much. I do want to put some 17inch rims on cause the stock 15's mine came with look kinda dumb but its not a big deal. I looked at the TDI but wanted a little more room.
