if your seniority is above the 1800s then hell yeah you schould go there and have fun.

just kidding. I say stay. why start on the bottom with the junior schedule and a company with no union? better pay, qol, insurance, crew food, hilton points, 3 week vacations twice a year, and wouldn't you miss TEB?

Would you leave NJA for JetBlue?

Why/ why not?

Thanks

I answered you on the majors forum. Personally, I wouldn't do it. If you have a good situation with a domicile of your choice, a schedule you like (7/7 or otherwise), you fly an interesting aircraft to a wide variety of destinations and you are a fan of union protection (despite the dues), then NJA may be the better choice. I know Jet Blue pilots who either really like it or they regret their decision to go there.

I have flown both 121 and corporate and I prefer the non-airline lifestyle myself. Can you see yourself doing your current frax job for the rest of your career (just bigger aircraft and more international destinations in the future)? If you can't see that, then maybe you should give Jet Blue a try. If you do go to Jet Blue, don't look back. Let us know which you choose - and good luck!

I would say it depends.... First of all if your senority number is lower then say 820ish by all means go.... Just kidding....

If you live on the east coast then maybe.... On the west... Not in a million years... Have to commute

If you are single and like chasing FA's then maybe.... If married then forget it...

Like knowing exactly what every single day is going to hold as far as schedule then maybe... If you can deal with piles of changes then stay...

If you are on 6yr pay like myself it is going to take YEARS to get back to this level at JetBlue.....

Now that I typed it out.... I agree with Wolfpack..... won't go.....

I followed you here from the majors board...do not do it...as i said u have a good stable job and your company is making money and growing...and a great contract...STAY where u are...personally i think JB or any pax carrier is a crapshoot the way the airline pax business is...i hope it gets better but now it blows

The majors have all embarked on a race to the bottom. Why join that race.

NWA Capt pay $95/hr.

What do you all think about a 7 yr Regional Cpt starting over at NJA? I'd like to hear all pro's and con's. I have killer seniority here, but NJA looks awfully good from here!!

Thanks

I was a regional captain on 5th year pay and I made the jump recently. Any choice has it's uncertainties, but NetJets looked like the best choice for me. I think this place will be around for the rest of my career and I think the overall pay and benefits it offers are very close to what you can get at most big airlines now (plus you start out better than any of the airlines). I personally wouldn't go to Jetblue and give up even the very little seniority I have here, but I could see people choosing Jetblue if they just had to live where they want and be able to jumpseat in for work (although I was never willing to commute even when I could ride in the cockpit jumpseat) or if 7 days away is just too long for your family. I miss jumpseating already, but this was definitely the right choice for me.
