with 10 years senority I would say no, wait for SWA,Delta,UPS FDX or any other major ( hiring will start soon), specially if you live out west.
JB does not seem to be interested on following SWA's model of flying around the east, west and midwest and using point to point. they are just acting like a legacy, building a super hub in JFK and flying the supercompetitive FL runs and the profitable NE . they seem to want to be a NY airline, instread of being the hometown airline to everywhere they fly to ( like SWA).
the west and midwest is crazy profitable for short and long fligths alike, but they don't seem to be looking there. furthermore VA is starting sfo-iad,sfo-las,sfo-lax and sfo-jfk, and they are only going to compete with them on sfo-jfk....brilliant NOT.
no words on bases out west, and the long beach will take you forever to be able to hold( we have ove 1,700 guys and the junior fo there is 1,300).
you already have turbine 121PIC time, and a good squedule, wait for the call from the other guys. network with your JS. don't be crazy ( unless you work for mesa, that's another story)"
That's one opinion. Here is mine. I think as aircraft deliveries continue the midwest is a definite. I like it here, but am quite a ways up the seniority list compared to where you would be. Sometimes guys like me have no idea what its like to be back at the bottom. There are signs of pay increases, a retirement plan being implemented, a 401K match increase...nothing is definite yet. All depends on what you want I guess. Nobody said you had to stay here if you take the job and something better comes along for you. In my opinion, if we get the B fund and some other things this is a fine place to work.
