I checked the status of my Jetblue online application and noticed that it no longer showed Prequalification. There is nothing there now where it used to show Prequalification. My guess is that this is a good sign. Any ideas; is it an indicator for an interview call??

Not to burst your bubble, but my profile has dropped off the prequal part as well, and I am not competitive. In fact, I had been listed as "sent to team leader" or something for the other job I applied for. I am guessing they just stopped putting that on there.

changes to JB app

Got the following note from JB regarding previous online app and their changes to a new system. Looks like you're going to input a new profile.

Fly safe,
jtb

"Greetings from JetBlue Pilot Recruitment!

We’ve made some significant enhancements to our online application process.

Therefore, we are sending this email to everyone in our Pilot application database to advise that if you are still interested in pursuing a position with JetBlue, you will need to submit the required information to our new online application system. (Your former application will be archived but is no longer accessible to you for update purposes.)

Please click on the link below to create a profile in our new database.

http://www.jetblue.com/workhere

These changes to our system are directly related to the feedback we’ve gotten from previous candidates. We think it will be much more user-friendly for applicants and we know that it will provide our Recruitment team with much more detailed information about those interested in joining our Pilot ranks.

Our interview selection process will continue to be based on a competitive evaluation of the information we collect in our database. And the newly designed system will enable you to present even more of your best qualities so that you’ll appear as competitive as possible.

NOTE: The names for our final interview session of 2004 have already been identified from the former database. And since we will be accessing the new system sometime in November to identify the names for the first round of interviews in 2005, you’ll have plenty of time to get your name into our files.

Good luck!

Updated app and staus changed

Same here. I got the email to update my app in October and updated soon after. It initially said prequalification for status and now says nothing. I had three internal recs on the previous apps. I am not sure if they transferred over or not. I have gotten another since then but still no call. Hoping for a blue dart.

Good luck to all.

Hi all,

Just for anyone curious, my best friend has 7000+TT and 1750 PIC on the A320 and when he updated he was kicked out as he was not considered competitive.
They told him competitive times were above 2000PIC.
He will have to wait till he flies another 250hours to be able to update.

Where are you guys seeing this "pre qual" thing? I re-did the app in early October, right after it changed to the simpler version. My profile is still there, I'm still able to update it, and after updating a screen with the heading:

The following jobs have conceptually matched your resume.

comes up, and it still lists First Officer as #3.

Is this what you guys are referring to?

Thanks

Nobody gets "kicked out", especially with those qualifications. Who was the "they" who told him 2000 Airbus PIC is competitive? I think your friend needs to check his online app again.

Skank,

You don't need to worry about who "they" is, as I was sitting right next to him when he finished updating and the site shot back the answer that he was not competitive and competitive is now above 2000 PIC.
Now, he has not been able to log back on and update as it says he is not registered even though they have sent him an email after updating stating his log in name, password and his PIN#.
I have tried several times to log in for him and no luck either.
However, you can look for yourself on JetBlues pilot qualifications page and it says the same thing that competitive times are now above 2000PIC.
Go there like you are signing up for the first time and scroll down the page and you will see it.

Been meaning to ask a question along these lines for some time now. I filled out the new Jetblue app about a month ago including the first officer section....which I admit I didn't see the first time (but how I finally got a so called score that everone was talking about). But...does anyone now how to update flight times on the first officer grid...not just the main profile, greater than 2000 ect questions?

For what its worth, the prequalification note dropped off my app as well.

I have not received any such email, but I had gone and redone their new app when it came out. Is this the app you are referring to, or is this the new-new app?

???

I never received any sort of email regarding the new app.
What does this mean? Was I not considered competetive when they
changed systems?

Also what "FO section"? Is there some sort flight time grid that
I missed?

What about my internal recs? I had 2 before. Do I need to ask those
guys to resubmit their rec for me?

Thanks.

I just logged in on the website and was able to view my app with no problem. Under the 'status' section though it doesn't say anything. I rechecked my resume that I pasted and also the skills section. Everythings still up as far as I can see.
Any JB folks who can chime in would be appreciated!!!
Still holding firm!!

I logged on and checked mine too. Everything is still there. Under the status, it is blank.

As someone else mentioned, the current competitive quals listed include 2000 jet (not turbine) PIC. Looks like all the current RJ captains have the best shot now. If that's the case, I'm nowhere near qualified. Oh well, c'est la vie...

I didn't mean to freak anyone out when i mentioned a first officer flight time grid.

Frankly I couldn't remeber what exactly was on the extra section. Reviewing posts from last month it looks like it was a series of questions asking about flights times, but not the section that comes up when you edit your profile. Either way thier doesn't seem to be a way to go back and look at them...short of starting over. Anyone know different....any ideas??

You guys got me all worried so I went back and updated my available date. It also asked some questions about other languages etc. and some ethinic questions. I originally put in my app approx. two to three years ago and updated the most recent version in early October, still no call. (1500 pic jet and 1400 pic turboprop. 7000 total, 4 year degree, clean record, 121 time, all civil.) A buddy had a REALLY good contact. Interviewed and was hired, approx 600 pic jet. Total pic is not certain, but it is not much, maybe 1000, at the most. To his credit he is a good person and I am sure will be an asset to JB. Can you say, "Who do you know?"

laters

I was told a while back that the system recognized when you logged in every month to update your times and assigned you a higher "score" based on that (something about it showing you were highly interested in the company).

Now that "qualifier" seems to be gone, as I went in to update and with the new "range" being "More than 2000 hours" or "More than 6000 hours" and I'm in the middle of that bracket with most of my times except total time, I won't be able to change anything for a LONG time now.

More magic I guess to work through, but strange stuff! I also didn't receive any of the messages that said I was competitive, not competitive, or a "status change", although I have nearly 4000 hours jet PIC so I may have skipped through some of that...
Anyone have the new and improved cliffnotes version of how the new system works?

Anyone know if there is a reference number assosciated with the new JB application. My contact there at JB is asking for it so that he can reference my app

Thanks in advance

It's my understanding that all your friend needs is your e-mail address to recommend you. This is a change from the old way which required app number and password.
