How can a company that is not making money give pilots raises? I hope you are right, but I have been hearing this for over a year.
What kind of raises are you talking about? Across the board or just 190 FO. Should be very interesting.
They asked me which aircraft I preferred, saying 190's would be in class first qtr 07, and A320 would be 2nd qtr of 07.
According to the folks I interviewed with, they still plan on giving people a choice of aircraft provided they can fill all 190 classes. If they can not fill a class they may have to only offer the 190 for a while, but this sounded to me like a fluid situation and by no means only the 190 would be offered if they can help it. They like to "let people choose their own destiny".
Form those who I have spoken to the word is that there are so many people in the pool who are waiting for the 320 that effectively everyone who just interviewed will only be offered the 190.
If this turns out to be the case then the entire recruitment staff just wasted their time and the time of all the applicants who interviewed in November.
I took over 12 weeks to get done through phase 2 and a good friend of mine less than 2 weeks.we both had been workin gfor the same outfit for 5 years( same time on pria records).
My understanding is that there are about 60 in the pool right now not counting the Nov interviewees. We have already forecasted classes of 14 A320 and 8 E190 every two weeks starting Jan 3 until the end of Feb. That means even if all 60 in the pool take the Airbus there will still be some folks from the Nov interviews that could be in an A320 class by the end of Feb.
Nobody wasted their time.
I have heard the following..
10$ raise to 320 Crews..
That would put yr 1 320 Fo at $61
190 Rates will be 85% of 320 rates. or about $50 yr one FO and just about $100 yr 1 Capt 190..
This is speculation from flying with a top seniority guy on probably 5 different committes..
JB has had 1 bad qtr and one near break even. That is countered by nearly 6 years of profit.. Jb in a short 6 months has been able to account for nearly $200 million per year in excess fat and is well on its way to meeting that goal.
JB understands that the pilots while loyal are in the daily grind.. If you dont work here you just wouldnt understand the culture..
Not the perfect job but a great place regardless..
lets hope this happens sooner rather than later
So, what would the estimate be for 1st year pay on the E190 with these new rates? How popular is the BOS base for the E190? Lastly, how many sectors would be likely on the E190 per day on average - 4-6 sectors?
You may be correct and I hope you are. But my source says different; Nov. invites will only be offered the 190.
This is hearsay thats it.. Until the rates are official this is pure speculation on my part.. I will guess you will see FO pay at JB increased before Captain Pay..
If you flew the Average which is 83 hrs per month here is the math
51 per hr x 70 = $3570
13 hrs at premium of $76.50 = 995
4565 per month or about $55,000
If you flew max schedule or 95 hrs per month
your premium would be about $1900 or $5500 per month
$65,800 per year..

Captain 190
$100 per hr x 70 = $7000
13 hrs at prem $150 = $1950
$107,400 per year
Max Sked would be about $125,000 with premium
