This was actually a mgt proposal to help increase crew utilization. DAL mgt found that it was easier to cover 4 sick pilots then it was 5. No one makes it back from India alive. The union went along with it because they were looking out for their members health.

From a safety stand point this is INSANE, your odds of having a healty pilot on the ride home just decreased by 20%.

How do those outfits crew it?

I believe with 4 pilots. But hey, ICAO allows old grandpas to fly now, and we haven't taken that stance. We were just asking for a clarification, since the FARs didn't say anything about flying over 16 hours.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Hey, almost 95% of Delta pilots won't see a 16 hour leg, since we only have 8 777s and only 2 possible legs (BOM-JFK, and DXB--ATL) that would do it.

Nice work. You only have 8 777s, so what do you care?

My company has 45 of them, thanks for dropping your drawers, we now stand zero chance of setting the stage for adequate crew rest.

Pass the word to your crews in the Andes. They're doing a good job with R/T skills now. They've stop saying, "hello center, ya'll got any ride reports down yonder', we be gitting a little bit of whitecaps in our coffee, and would like to skeedaddle up or down to sumthin' betta'" ;)

It sounds like you are lonely and in need of attention--any type of attention. So you come here, FI, your "home" and do the equivelent of beating your spouse. Lets slow things down--way down--and start digging into whats really your problem.

Why don't you quit being such an a$$. He contributes more to the conversation (rightly or wrongly) than you do.

Sorry to change the subject, but is jetBlue having an open house for pilot candidates in Orlando on Tuesday, Dec. 12?
Thought i heard this but can't confirm it....

No flamers, please- any exit from the nwa farm is a good one, and jetBlue is a good option...

Thanks

Yes, business casual, no suit and tie necessary.

General is an example of a socially inept individual reaching out for acceptance. Only in anonymity does a persons true personality surface.

Hey General,
when you say "you jetblue guys" I assume you think all jetblue pilots are pushing for this change? It was managment, not pilots- I dont want to sit in an airplane anymore that 6 hours a day, and thats even pushing it for me....

see, was that so difficult?

I am sorry we Delta pilots didn't do MORE to gain an extra crew member (5 instead of 4) for all flights over 16 hours. Good luck with all of your future over 16 hour nonstop flights, and I hope you guys don't say "Those darn Delta guys, they really ruined it for us. Now we only get 2 Captains and 2 FOs for our A320 flights around the world nonstop! Hey, by the way, where is that jetstream anyway??"

Hey, we tried to get 5 pilots, but the FAA was asked by Delta to take a look, and they decided we could go 17 hours now nonstop with only 4 pilots, as long as there is adequate rest facilities. (our 777s have an upper deck above first class with 2 sleeper bunks and 2 first class chairs with personal TVs)

Sorry again guys!

Bye Bye--General Lee

Apology accepted amigo.

I know, but some (not every Jetblue pilot) praised a possible rule change because they wanted more days off. And your management obviously wanted it too. Other than the transcon turn deal, I think you guys ROCK! And, I am glad you brought up those E190 wages too. Good for you, it was needed. See, I still love you guys!

Bye Bye--General Lee
