Jet Blue Plane Makes Emergency Landing At RDU

RALEIGH, N.C. -- A Jet Blue airplane on its way to Florida made an emergency
landing at RDU International Wednesday morning.

The pilot reported that passengers asked for a landing because they smelled
an odor in the plane
.

Mindy Hamlin, spokeswoman for RDU International, said the landing was safe
and the plane was checked out in the airport's General Aviation area.

Another plane will take the 153 passengers from RDU to West Palm Beach.

Jet Blue does not serve RDU.

Did they deploy the thrust reversers?

If everyone who flew row 14 at ASA reported an odor, we'd never get anywhere.

That "odor" was reported as a "burning smell".
What would you have done?
How do you know the crew didn't do that?
I'm not defending JB, per se. I'm defending the Captain's authority to follow the safest course of action.
Maybe you would have called dispatch for orders?
