If you get Bogota, I bet your pilots will happily walk around town at night without fear. Why? Because most of your pilots live in Yonkers or Ozone Park, and you are "used to it." Good luck.

Bye Bye--General Lee

The majority of our commuting pilots have pads in kew gardens and yes you can walk around there at hight all you want.

It's funny how everyone talks about how Columbia is so dangerous.. Has anyone been to mexico lately?

I don't care how dangerous it is in Columbia, the women are smokin'!!!

Is that after they are set on fire by the drug lords? Anyone going down there needs to be careful.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Most of our JFK based pilots live all over the United States, Herr General. But a stroll through Ozone park shouldn't be too harmful for your average wise guy.

You could not afford a house in either of those places redneck.

Any Jet Blue guys hearing merger rumors?

Yes something about a Barrons article. Have not seen it but the idea is out there on Wall Street sooner than later.

The credit crunch is affecting the large M&A market right now. No money to play.

So the numbers were worked and the idea was put in storage for the "correct market conditions"

Watch Ichan. That guy is up to something.:erm:

Spirit will get the 7 FLL-BOG frequencies. They've had their application in for a while and have been intensly fighting for them. They just filed a renewal of intent. It just makes sense since they are already serving serveral points of Latin America out of FLL.
jetBlue might get MCO-BOG.

If JetBlue gets 7 weekly flights to Colombia, they can fly to/from any city pair they want. Even if that means doubling up on Spirit. The service allotment is for country to country service, not specific city pairs.

I understand that with Colombia it does not work that exact way. I might be wrong though. I know Open Skies exists with Barranquilla and Cartagena. Bogotá has always been more restrictive market to protect Avianca's interests.
I know AA is now planning 3 daily frequencies to BOG out of MIA, using some of their unused slots. We'll see what happens.
