I know they did some interviews on or around the 8th, but I don't know if guys in that group were from the previous app or the new. Maybe a combination of both.

I wish all that apply to JB the best of luck! I offer a word of caution: Do not be enamored with the thought of flying an Air Bus or Life will be a bed of roses. Bottom line, it isn`t! If hired...... enjoy drinking at the Kew Club and dinner at Tu Casas. YOU will be spending a whole lot of time in Queens, NY! and hoping for the next wave of hiring! It`s not a bad job....its just not great! Not what I expected from a "Major Airline" Good luck to all and God Bless!

Come on Mikey....dont scare them all away, I need some guys below me!

I interviewed on 12/8 and as far as I know, all of us who were there attended the MCO job fair in May. I was informed that the next job fair will be in the spring for this most recent application window.

Still hope for those of us that went and haven't been called yet, I guess....

Hey dude, don't knock the Kew Club! Sunday flight attendant night... giggity!

Spent a lot of time and money at..... Kew Club, Dani`s pizza, Last Call, Ale House, doing laundry at Lefferts and Metro! Oh the memories!!!!!! Since when did they begin Sunday Night Flight Attendent Night? Hope you dont mean JB Flight Attendent Night? Just not ready to start batting for the other team!

How about a new hire at CO who spends his/her time on reserve in EWR? Or a Delta newhire stuck in Atlanta on reserve? My point is, isn't what you posted applicable to any newhire at any airline- just in a different location?

Now if there are other issues that make JB a bad place to work vs another carrier, please share.

Reserve is reserve and Kew isn't that bad. Get out, walk around, have some drinks and eat. It's what you make of it. Most of the people who truly hate it are the ones proud of their myopic view of life.

Whoa........slow your roll and whats with the personal attack? Myopic view on life....Dude if you knew me, i`m probably one of the largest advocates for making a better work enviroment and work place. You are correct...This post is for the JB application window!

I do applaud the enthusiasm of potential new hires. I too felt the same way before I was hired. Isn`t it better to be realistic than idealistic? Ran a lot of curcuits around Forrest Park....so I did get out of my cave ;-)

Question for the informed; Would it behoove me to put all of my flight time in a single format for the purpose of an interview with JetBlue? Right now it's in multiple formats.
Thanks,
PP

A friend of mine was there on the 8th, and didn't attend the MCO job fair. Also, an interview class on Jan 11th, and 26th comprised of similar numbers on the 8th.........49 interviewees.

Good luck to all.

and for newhires, forget Kew Gardens........you're gonna be in BOS:)

Have the interviewees been called already for the Jan 11th and Jan 26th interviews sessions? Or are these 49 calls still to come?

Fine with me. I'll go anywhere they want me to. Just hire me! :) BOS is an easier commute from where I am now anyway. Moving to MCO eventually, even if I'm still commuting, but they just killed the one JFK non-stop here. Only way straight to JFK is on FedEx.....

Could you please clarify whether that's 49 each date or a total of 49 for Jan?
Thanks

The guy I fly with just got called for a Jan 11th Interview. Not sure what made the difference for him. Good Luck.

For the class that just started last week, there were 14 A-320 openings and 10 E-190 openings and all 24 could choose between either JFK or BOS. There are two classes of 32 each planned for 1/5 and 1/19. I don't have any info on the break down of aircraft types or domiciles for those.

Absolutely, bro...hence the smiley face. Obviously you know we are growing pretty quickly in BOS. But yes, one could probably plan on a choice between JFK and BOS.

Thank you! Any idea how many are hired from the 50? Potentially all, or is there a fairly reliable percentage?
PP

No idea how many, potentially all yes. But, I think I've heard the 75% range. We want to hire you, you've been invited to interview because your experience warrants it.........your personality eventually wins it.
Good luck, it's not perfect.......but it's a good place to work.

Oh, my friend who interviewed on the 8th got the thumbs up for phase 2. So the calls are going out.

So I guess I only have one other question...which is better for crashpads, JFK or BOS?
Thanks
PP

I've been based at both. JFK is nice because there's plenty to do around Kew, crashpads can be had pretty cheap, and the company shuttle takes a lot of the transportation burden off you. When I was based at BOS there were only a few pads, most of which were accessible from the T in a so-so neighborhood. (Orient Heights, Revere Beach). The base has tripled in size since then, so I imagine there are more options now.

What's to say that someone gets turned down and then re-interviews and gets hired. Did he/she revamp their personality overnight. I think there is something else going on too. With people having Blue Darts and having been to the MCO Invite Only Party in May there is more afoot then just being "Guy Smiley" at the interview. The JetBlue process today is new HR and a new hiring team than ALL of the previous hires. I'm not saying personality is a part of things, for sure it is, but this is still a market of around 20-30% qualified pilot unemployment and companies have the pick of the litter. Good luck and hold on.

I'm not exactly sure what your post means.....so I apologize. But, people that I know who have been turned down and then hired later.......usually admit to nerves gettin the best of em in the 1st round. You're correct, it's not all personality.....obviously because we have some complete TOOLS working here, but it's a major component. All I can say is, the friends I have here, mostly have great personalities, and the guys I know who didn't get hired....don't.

LOL!! I meant that there is more than just personality going on in the hiring right now at B6. There will always be TOOLS that slip through the cracks and nerves can certainly play a part for interviewing mistakes. Its good to know that B6 will reinterview and hire on second attempts. I think that's a solid policy, especially for people who really WANT to work there.

Got a friend who got the call to interview. No open house, also got turned down in 07'.
