Hi everyone,
I did a search and just couldn't quite find the answers to these two re jetBlue's app.

Now I think I have this one sorted, but what do you think.......In the 'All Aircraft Flown' section, it allows you to select aircraft make and model, check the box for a type, and then enter SIC and PIC hours. However earlier in the app, it specifically states NO sim time. I have a type that was 100% sim and since then no aircraft experience, so would I put zero in the hours box? I haven't tried it yet to see if it'll take.

And secondly, when they ask for three references that can 'verify the information on this application' (or something like that), are you folk putting people that have flown with you, know you well, can attest you're a great all round person etc etc. Or is it more along the lines of people that can verify your background, training, work history etc. 'Cause the people I would list for a 'personal' reference are different to the people I would list for 'background' reference. Any ideas - am i missing something here??

All help gratefully appreciated!

Hey,

Not sure about your first question - guess I'd put in the type and I'd put the length of the type rating checkride in the total box (combine PIC and SIC) because in order for you to be typed, you must have demonstrated operation of the aircraft to ATP PTS standards as PIC. If it was conducted in a level D sim and it was good enough for the FAA inspector or the DE to type you, you were PIC. But you cannot count it toward total flight time in an aircraft (which you already pointed out is not wanted in the flight hours information section). This is based on what I remember from conducting type rides as a company check airman with an FAA inspector in the jumpseat. And also in dealing with working around the rules to conduct as much of the checkride as possible in the sim because Fairchild did not see fit to provide us with a level D sim with until about 2 years after the world launch of the a/c. Then once they did, they also promptly went out of business.

As for the second question, I put a mix of "personal" and "professional" references down. In fact, two personal and one professional (a pilot friend for a long time). Seemed to work for me - I interview next week.

Best of luck.
