Think logically for a bit and get away from your entitlement mentality. You are not entitled to anything and will only get what is afforded to you by market forces. Harp all you want about comparables.

Another free market bible thumper. You've been brainwashed.

My entitlement mentality? If you knew the company I work for you would retract that statement. We work hard, long days and no entitlement. Market forces forced me to out of a job once and to furlough another time. So before you go off as a half cocked internet scribe, refill your drink and chill out.

you mean as opposed to a welfare monger.
Now go do the walkaround!

Nope, not me. I work hard, always have. I just don't fall for the charade of "market forces " as if they are not highly manipulated and used as a weapon against the middle and working class.

No welfare desired or requested. Just someone in my corner, and that is NOT the GOP leadership.

Unfortunately you cannot compare apples and oranges. BOTH the DC-9 and 717s carry well over 100 pax. You have to use the other carriers that fly the 190s and for now, you guys are overpaid*** but that is a good thing, right?
If we compare A320 to A320 you are overpaid based upon your A320 peers.

Everything that jetblew GIVES on the hourly side, they will TAKE on the benefits and work-rules side. It's been that way for 10 years. Cost neutral. That's the beauty of a flexible direct relationship.

Apologists, bluebells, and jetblew knights-in-shining-armor are nothing more than cringing hyenas who jump when a Wharton grad says "wide-bodies, furlough protection, and free pizza." Stupid a holes.

all these comparisons are futile. Pay is based on market power and nothing else. Rationalize it all you want on weight, number of seats, number of engines, number of toilets or whatever else you fancy.

Right now our pay is based on what union pilots have fought for and nothing else.

Are you the chicken farmer or Blue Bayou's brother who thinks that his C-130 experience dropping jeeps at 5 feet somehow makes him God's gift to the airline industry?

I guess you're the expert then? Instead of thumping my chest like you, I'll just tell you about my minor and humble experience here at Jetblue. 12 years at ONE airline with NO furlough and NO givebacks... I'd say that's a rarity in this industry. Am I proud of it, NO. I consider myself extremely fortunate. How it makes me an expert like you make me out to be, I'm not sure I see the connection...

BTW, I was never LAPES qualified and they discontinued that aerial delivery method years ago. So, I'm not your God's gift to the airline industry and by your ignorance, you're certainly not God's gift to the military.

This is exactly why pay comparisons are usually performed using MGTOW instead of seats. I suppose in your world a A318 with 32 first class seats going from JFK to London City ought to pay less than an RJ.

E-190's are mainline jets. And *we* set the rates at the RJ level. Putting them back to mainline pay *after every else copied our RJ rates* doesn't make it overpaid. Geez, man, whose side are you on?

That is an incredibly accurate and succinct account of what happened. Don't be surprised if I steal it.

They set the 190 rates at RJ levels because THEY COULD and they always intended to raise them.

But, they used the intervening three years and the benevolent 190 raise to justify ZERO for the 320.

That was always the plan from day ONE.

The entire episode consumed four years and everyone patted themselves on the back at the end. The BoBs were SO proud of jetblue when they realized that the "right thing to do" was to bring our 190 brothers up to parity.

You all got played and roughly 20 pilots at jetblue saw it before it ever happened.

It's a zero sum game.

The only hope for retribution is 3A.

When you start at half that of your peers and it takes you 10 years to come up to partially mediocre I'd say that was a Phyrric victory.
