Hutchman said:$813,000 in a month = 287 new hire pilots. How many are we hiring this year????
I do think almost 8 million a year is a bit excessive. But that is just me.

You should change your screen name. You have not earned the right.

holdon said:Give us time, we only have approx 90 airplanes (getting a new one about every 12 days this year) we will connect the dots. Not to mention another 8-10 new cities this year!

JBLU is trying to survive by only having NE prescence for a hub. IMO it will not work in the long haul. They do not have enough connecting traffic. Sure you get good O&D from JFK but a hub needs both. Who wants to fly from FLL to LGB via JFK? AUS to LGB via JFK? They need more spokes to the wheel at a cost basis that they can not sustain. The future of JBLU is shaky at best.
Of course their pilots don't have a defined retirement paln and that alone should be means for shutting them down, TIC.

Boeingman said:WOW!!!!!!!!! This coming from a UAL pilot whose current pilots turned their backs on their pilot retirees and agreed to terminate their pensions?

BabyBoy said:fly someone else. When the company wants you to go from FLL to LGB on JB, they'll make it a direct flight, as they already have.
32LT10 said:Did you see the TIC at the end. That means Tounge in Cheek. I would expect this from a JBLU pilot. You guys like to blast the legacy carriers for their slashing of pensions and pay. Yet you guys have never had a pension nor have you led the industry in pay or benefits. You guys have done nothing in the ALPA safety arena to help the industry. Of course you are trying to get the FAA to allow flight days over 8 hours so you can do LGB turns. How is that better for the industry? You guys get something like that passed and the poor guys flying the RJ's in short haul will be doing 10 to 12 legs a day.
It is the short sightedness of the JBLU group that really rankles the industry. Maybe it is part of the 5 year contracts that you work under that causes this mentality. Just glad you are now having to pay for your maintenance and other cost, TIC. I know you guys hate it when people say that. Just like when you accuse those in BK of not paying their bills.
