Just curious as to what's the best discount off of a posted fuel price per gallon of Jet A you've managed to wrangle out of an FBO? Nevermind contract fuel like Colt, Mercury, etc. Getting a dollar or more off of a price has been quite common lately. Just can't belive that if an FBO is able to knock off a dollar per gallon and still make something, then the asking price is just absolutely obscene. Game on...

How much volume are you doing... per fuel job... in a week... in a month... ? Is your company a large presence at the FBO? There are lots of factors that play into your specific retail rate. If you only take 100 gallons in your lear, you can best be assured that you won't see much of a discount. Do you have five Gulfstreams and are in and out of a particular FBO all of the time? Look for some hefty savings. Do you fly an airline size aircraft? Also more hefty savings.

The best discounts I've ever seen were given to a company that had four or five challengers, two BBJ's and two west coast bases (among other places). They were flying in and out of our east coast facility several times a week.

Bottom line, the greater your volume, the greater your leverage.
