Hello All,

I was just wondering how much hiring is going on at Jet Blue. I've had my stuff in there for awhile and of course have heard nothing from them. Is hiring going to pick up there anytime soon? How about next spring? When are they starting to ramp up for the delivery of the EMB 190s? I would love to work at B6 and wouldn't mind toughing it out for a year or more as FO on the Embraer. What are my chances of getting a call in the next 18 months? Right now, I have about 4000 TT and 1500 turbine 141 PIC. I'm adding about 80 hours every month to those totals.

Thanks for any info.

We're hiring between 20-30 every month and that will continue for the next 6 or 7 months. After that the numbers should move to 40-50 a month for the next couple of years.

That is of course based on no big changes to the business plan - which could obviously shift either way with external factors. I would think that you are starting to become competitive, and adding the jet pic will only help.

With the additional hiring to come, and rumored pay differences for the EMB - I would guess your chances will go way up early next year.

what is the pay going to be on the 190? Anyone have any rough idea?

Murk,

Thanks for the info. You guys are hiring more than I had expected. I'll keep updating my stuff and keep my fingers crossed.

One more question... How important is jet PIC time versus turboprop PIC? Currently I'm flying the DO 328 prop and I'll be moving up to the CRJ in a couple months. All my turbine PIC is in the Dornier. Is it important that I get in the jet right away, or can I drag my feet a bit? I think I already know the answer to this question.

Thanks Again.

I have a friend with over 9K total and 5K pic 121 JET, clean record and 35 y/o...no luck yet but updating every 2 weeks...your guess as good as any in order to crack the computer screening equation! keep up the good flying!

Gosh, LoveGun is willing to tough it out in the E190 as a FO for a whole year or so. What dedication!

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. No malice intended. Need my anti-bitter pill today I guess!

Does anyone know haw far out will JetBlue call folks for an interview that plan to retire from the military. I know SWA will sometimes call folks for an interview a year before their retirement date. Thanks

E3Pilot

Normally three to four months out for the military retirees/separating folks, to the best of my knowledge.

Good luck!
