Position Summary:
This position requires a highly motivated and detail oriented individual, who displays energy, passionate enthusiasm and obvious commitment to excellence. The Instructor is responsible for providing initial and recurrent training for all Dispatch Crewmembers including Dispatchers, Load Planners, and others, as required. The Instructor will work closely with the Manager System Operations Training to ensure that the training programs reflect published policies, and that the best possible use of course delivery and technology is in place in all training programs.
Essential Functions:
* Schedules and provides classroom training for all Dispatch positions to include Dispatchers, Load Planners and others, as required
* Assists with courseware development and other collateral duties associated with Dispatch training
* Provides training for cadre of on-the-job (OJT) instructors
* Coordinates with other System Operations Center (SOC) instructors in an effort to develop standard, quality curricula applicable and relevant to ever changing operational requirements
* Assists with providing OJT instruction
* Maintains Dispatch Crewmember qualification and currency
Interactions:
Supervision Received:
* Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents
Supervisory Duties:
* No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function
Working Conditions:

* Computer and other office equipment
* Normal classroom equipment
Work Environment:
* Normal office environment
* Travel may be required
* Classroom environment (Orlando Support Campus or Forest Hills Support Center) and System Operations Center environment

Job Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma required
* College Degree preferred but not required
* FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate required
* Successful completion of JetBlueÁ’s Dispatch training
* Two (2) to three (3) years of airline operations experience as a Dispatcher
* JetBlue Dispatch experience preferred but not required
* Previous teaching/instructing experience preferred but not required
* Flexible and willing to travel
* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Experience with Flight Planning and Flight Following software, such as Sabre tools including Dispatch Monitor, FliteTrac Plot, and Flight Explorer
* Possess strong knowledge of Dispatch subjects, Air Traffic Control, JB Docs (Manual & Manual Supplements) and Federal Aviation Regulations
* Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
* Excellent teaching skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
* Excellent coaching skills and the ability to motivate and mentor students
* Ability to work independently
Physical Effort:
