The announcement said it was to talk to the displaced ATL ramp and ground support people. He probably told them how they will be better of than the crews when it comes to travel benefits. (Then he probably had a little chuckle over it.)

Sound's like someone who has been with this company for 5 years. Hasn't been able to upgrade, hasn't had a single raise to keep up with inflation even though the company makes record profits, went through this company making them move from Dallas to Atlanta to SLC to LA and now back to Atlanta all within a few years, and just got junior manned for the 2nd time this month because our Glass G.O. doesn't have the aptitude to sufficiently staff the airline.

Thanks for the support. Your true colors are shining through. At least we are trying to better our situation. And by the way, our costs on our 50 seat aircraft are lower than yours. So by that logic, your 50 seat fleet should be ours. Is that the way you guys want to play this game?

JA doesn't care. He already told our MEC chairman that if we're 1% above Skywest in cost, he will transfer the flying to Skywest. He also said never to any meaningful scope. It's all about business and profit to him. Settling our contract will cut into his profit.

He will continue to use his vast political connections to drag out negotiations while he bleeds us to death. Jerry bought an operating certificate, some airplanes, and ATL gates. Not an airline.

It now seems this was his master plan all along.

Jerrry is probably in the guinnes book of world records for the longest standing airline C.E.O. That being said there are alot of QOL issues at SkyWest -->>PBS<<-- that will get the union in. Then there will be the fight for senirity as the two groups merge. Then Jerry will retire, and that is when I shall run, not walk, too a major.

Dunno, Baze. They're in the middle of doing some polling etc., but beyond that........... no idea how many cards are in, no timeline........... dunno.

talked to an OC guy just the other day in the crew lounge. they have 'about' 40% of cards, they want to have 60%. He says they're shooting for late summer, early fall.

so, in real terms, it doesn't have the momentum they had hoped for.

The fact is he is trying to make our pilot group fix the below the wing costs as well. The fact that they cannot hire "Quality" people for the ramp...not my problem. Maybe if I just sat back and TOOK whatever J@ss gave me....uh like YOU...then maybe I would not have such a case of the Mondays! Actually, according to the Feb. 2007 issue of Aviation International News: "SkyWest Airlines and its subsidiary ASA, turned the biggest profit margins in the ENTIRE AIRLINE INDUSTRY, 12.3% and 12.1%, respectively". Not just regionals...

I am still not concerned with SKW Inc getting rid of ASA. Dollar for dollar, ASA still earns more per airplane that SKW planes do. This just the typical drum beat of how the game gets played between the companies and unions at this level.

That being said, the companies are still beholden to the shareholders and the more revenue or return on the dollar they can provide, the greater the influx of money to grow. Greed you ask? Doesn't that make the world go around? Without drive and motivation to make more money, why would you risk capital like that? For the employees? Not likely.

All facts (and rumors) considered, ASA is still the goose laying the Golden Egg for SKW Inc. The goose may be a pain in the a$$ but it is still producing.
