I'm all straightened out and using the correct FAA charts...

Contradiction in terms! :D

Have fun and FLY SAFE!

I'm off to KGVL via KBJC-KSGF-KGVL! C-210!

Whats wrong with NOS? I have flown with both, but Jepps are too expensive for me right now. NOS seem to work just fine. Was just wondering what kind of things you dislike about them.

Nothing....

NACO.

Oh, nothing really. I just prefer Jepp. Descent rate that are published on each plate. Better lay-out and format. No airport diagram on the plate it's self. If I want to see what the airport looks like I'll flip the page and get a good image(half page size!). Individual sheets that can be removed and PUT back. Little things like that.

Jepp is WAY more expensive but WELL worth the money. During my II training I was laughed at for using Jepp because "my students will never be able to afford them". Ha! All have been willing to use and buy them.

Jepp packs a lot of info into their plates, i.e that whole "Intro" thing I talked about in the earlier post. Something you don't get with the NACO plates.

But I've used Jepp since my instrument training and I'm familiar with them.

And yes I know the whole "KIAS/2 add a 0 = FPM descent"!

But Jepp rocks!!!

I agree with you. Jepps are really nice. But I dont do enough IFR flying to get my money's worth. For the time being I'll have to stick with the NOS.

Free plates!

If you go to www.naco.faa.gov and scroll down the left hand side until you see something like ONLINE digital tpp, click on that and you can get the IAPs for free!

Save the $4! Why give the gov. anymore than we have too.

I'm just giving NACO a hard time, they're not that bad, I just don't like them.

Did you find that a lot of NDB approaches were deleted?

That's been the case in all updates recently.

This one was a ton of STAR/SID/ODPs...some airports had entire sets of new plates.

Lots of GPSs being deleted too...weird!

A few enroutes were updated and a few Area charts.

And of course the usual NOTAM/intro pages.
