Simple, non flame inducing, question:

Looking at airlinepilotcentral.com, and for JetBlue it says: "Junior assignment additional pay is 40% of Pilot's base rate".

Anyone know what this means? THANKS!

40% above your normal payrate.

ie- $100/hr normal
$140/hr jr manned

Jr assignment is flying outside your normal awarded schedule. Working on your days off, either by picking up extra flying or being forced by your company.

My bad, Mullet...yeah, I figured out the 40% portion...I should have asked more directly. What constitutes a "junior assignment"? Is that just your first year? Second year? All bases? All planes? Thanks again.

I'm a covered and chunked guy myself on those 3 am, close down the bar and raid the "awful house".

Jr. Assignement- Extra flying that the company sometimes forces on you. Technically according to your contract that flying is assigned by reverse senority. Start at the most JR. guy and go up. I think that what your are asking.

I have another question. Everything above 70 hours is 150%, so does that mean if you are above that and you are junior assigned you get 40% more on top of the 150%?

Example: Base is $100. Anything over 70 hours is $150. JA after 70 hours is $210?

No, it is 40% of your base pay. With your example it would be $190

100+40+50=190
