New Scheduling Guide is out, and A320 junior assignment pay rates are increased 28% (average) while E190 ja rates are reduced by over 30%. Someone want to 'splain which "value" is being represented here?

Well....

the original JA rates were of course based on A320 rates of pay.
So you're going to get screwed when the "new" rates reflect the new aircraft type and the new pay rates.

So either EMB JA rates reflect the proportionate new rate (downward).
Or you pay A320 JA rates to the EMB pilots (which I prefer but some would say the EMB people are disproportionally rewarded).

Some of it has to be tied to reality and economics.
If the EMB is the high yield money maker (despite higher CASM and less efficient utilization) then all EMB rates should be raised.

So...

jbflyboy makes a post about a significant change (for the worse), in JetBlue's EMB pilot compensation package, and you guys start ripping on him for "whining"?? What, are you happy that your already low EMB pay is being chipped away at??

Jbflyboy was far from 'whining' when he started this thread. He made a very legit post that he thought others might want to know about. Maybe you'd rather he bury his head in the sand and pretend it didn't happen?

After thinking about things, I have to admit I have no freaking idea what a "New Scheduling Guide" even is. Can someone fill me in? Are JetBlues pay rates variable from month to month? How did they arbitrarily change the junior man rates w/o consulting the pilot group for a vote or approval?

Maybe I misunderstood jbflyboy's original post completely. Can someone clear it up?

Zonker: I agree with you on that. But Flip didn't decide he'd seen enough until they started in on his airline. Their posts are drivel, but sometimes they are funny. Nothing to get too worked up about. It is just flamebait, put them on ignore if you don't like it.

I'll bet after he calms down even Flip will admit that he let the troll get to him just because it was about jB and not some other carrier.

The previous Flight Scheduling Guide didn't have E-190 JRA rates. I think the word is Integrity.
