That being said I believe parents need to control and monitor what the kids are watching and doing, it's parent 101 stuff. I have no kids but I do know how they should be raised.
That's hilarious. You have no kids, but you KNOW how they should be raised. I tell ya, buddy, all of us thought that way before we had kids. I'd be careful what I say, if I were you, because the more words you disgorge, the more you'll have to eat.

... while radio which is usually listened to by adults on the way to or from or at work is being dumped on by the FCC I'm refering to talk radio which has the demographic of 21 to 45 males in mind. I can't think of a single minor or person under the age of 18 who listens to this kind of radio. If you ever listen and hear a caller complain it's normally a woman who is listening to the show and just want's to be on the air no matter what. Why listen if you are going to call and complain, simply change the channel.
I can't believe you can honestly say that America's parents should have been standing guard over their children as they viewed the Super Bowl Halftime festivities to be prepared to avert their eyes when the obscenity popped onto the screen, and provide trauma counselling if they were too late to spare the child from the event. Your argument that the FCC sanctions should apply only to TV, and not radio, however, are inconsistent.
I fall into your assumed demographic, and enjoy listening to talk radio. Not only do I listen when driving to or from work, I enjoy listening when I drvie the kids to school, or pick them up. I enjoy it when I'm taking them to the doctor, or the store, or Wednesday night Bible study. I enjoy taking my preschool son with me when I run errands around town. It really IRKS me, then, when I have to turn the radio off and apologize to my children for the garbage they just heard that I didn't see coming. I'm not talking about Howard Stern, I'm talking about rather conservative shows during the mid-day and afternoon hours, news and traffic shows in the morning and afternoon - - shows that should be harmless, fit for consumption by all ears.
Radio stations need to meet standards, too. I'm glad to see the attention they're receiving.

By the way, if you think small children should be watching network news, then you've got a completely different definition of obscenity than I do.
I think Network News should be fit for viewing by the entire family. If they feel a need to air something that is NOT fit for the entire family, they should at least warn viewers so parents can do the policing you think they ought to do. It's hard to police something that has ALREADY been seen.
