Beechdriver--thanks, looking forward to meeting you and enjoying the party your 13 Dec class will be throwing for us Newbies.

Turbojet--hold on buddy, you're not out of the fight yet. I talked to Kim this afternoon to complete the process (my drug test expired so I have to do the Whiz Quiz again) and I got a little more info from her to pass on.

The 20 June (Sunday/Father's day) pool date made me the 18th person in the class out of 20. I know no one interviewed and I doubt anyone else got their Type rating on that Sunday. That means two folks from the next interview day (or pool date depending on if you had your type at the interview) will be in the 3 Jan Class. Here's the part to make you a praying man Turbojet. She said they were going to decide late this week/early next week if they were going to bump the class size up to 24--so those of you with pool dates from 21-23 June can sit on the edge of your seat for another week seeing if you've been naughty or nice.

I hope you make our class Turbojet, but if not...we'll be ready to throw a welcome party for your class on the 17th, same as the 13 Dec class is taking care of us .

Does anybody know how many interview dates they had in Jul and Aug? I know they slowed down for a month or so. Just wondering where us Sept interview guys will fall into class. Thanks

August had no interviews as far as I know. I think July had a full 3 weeks of interviews, which I think was 3-4 days per week. Not quite sure on that.

I was a July 20th interview (had the type when interviewing) so it looks like I am now "one month away" so I am hoping if the class sizes bump to 24 I have a shot at the 2/14 LUV! class.

July Interviews

TGR - I can answer for July... the dates I was offered to go interview that month were the 6th through 8th, 12th through the 15th, and 19th through the 22nd. Basically 3 weeks, 4 days each week (Mon - Thur) except the first one because of the July 4th holiday. I picked the 12th, the first Monday of the second week. I'm not sure about August interviews, but the DB for July interviews wasn't until 31 August.

From what I heard there were no interviews in Aug, 3 weeks each in Sep and Oct, 1 week worth in Nov, and 2 weeks worth in Dec. All I think were 18 interviewees per day. They originally weren't going to interview in Nov or Dec at all but decided to squeeze in some before the holidays after all.

Otis, my man...good to see you're swimming. I think you may be confused on your pool date. If successful, you're placed in the pool on the day you interviewed or the day you get your Type rating--whichever is later (time your decision board met doesn't factor into it...I was in the same boat and shocked to see how many folks ended up in the pool before me because I didn't have my Type at the interview). So your pool date is 11 August. Interviewees from June, July, and up to August 10th who had their Types at the interview have been treading water in the pool before you while you were still at Walmart picking out your floaties...the lifeguard will call them out before you.

I suggest you give Kim in the PD a call. She understands we need to plan separation dates and the like, so she doesn't mind if you call her once a month for a "forecast". She told me to expect class on 3 Jan for the last three months...and she was right on. We can take stabs at your start date on the board, but Kim has the big picture of folks who've had to defer classes due to military activation or waiting to reach retirement that may move you up or back a class. She'll tell you it's just her unofficial best guess due to the fluid nature of things right now, but you'll get the warm fuzzy based on the current plan and know that you haven't been forgotten.

Congrats to all those swimming...I know it seems like forever before getting the official invite for class. Rely on your water survival skills, fly safe, and be ready for a mini whirlpool as the plug may get pulled soon. Just as Chase promotes preparing for the interview...check out some of the posts about how you can prepare for class once in the pool (Pass Cards, Flows, Call outs, Ops Limits, Boldface, 737 Cockpit companion and FMC user guide for low tech guys like me). I was only given a 386 processer in a pentium world, so have been leaning forward a bit to prepare for class--I'll let you all know if it was worth it in a month or so .

The order of the pool is interview date or type which ever comes last. For what I know I am being told "Feb" by the PD and I was a July 20th interview so I imagine you are looking at late Feb or early March unless they add classes in either Jan or Feb which is certainly possible.
