Island Air halts expansion plans

In what it called a defensive measure, Island Air said it is sending back the Q400 it recently acquired and will not take delivery of two more on order. The carrier says the actions are in direct response to the low, inter-island fares being offered by Mesa Airlines startup go! Mesa's carrier recently began promoting $19 tickets. 9/28/2006
