AIRLINES: NWA wins time on attendants pact
Detroit Free Press, February 10, 2006
A federal judge authorized Northwest Airlines Inc. to continue paying its flight attendants under the terms of a temporary contract reached in November, saying an extension will help the parties reach a long-term deal. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Allan Gropper granted the extension over objections from the union representing the flight attendants, which opposed the relief saying Northwest was negotiating a long-term contract in bad faith. The temporary agreement was set to expire Monday. "The court believes an extension of the interim relief will facilitate the current negotiations and lead to a resolution," Gropper said at a hearing in New York.
