So, did you put "gay, black, female" at the top of your resume, or did you go to the NGBFPA job fair?

All the Majors have a huge presence at that one, plus recruiters roaming the crowd, dragging the GBFs to the booth to fill out apps.
 
There is not a shortage of pilots, however, there is a shortage of pilots with good qualifications. Used to be a day where one was required to have a college degree or a decent amount of flying experience. Not anymore. Funny how the industry works like a pendulum. Only years ago, you needed like 8000 hours to competitive at this company, now you can walk in here with a conditional hiring agreement with little or no experience...
 
Here's what I don't understand. Why are there so many people on FI that just like to stir flame? Doesn't anyone get laid anymore? It's no wonder males are 50% less fertile than they were two generations ago. People are on FI stirring sh!t instead of out f@cking!!!

There is no real shortage of pilots, the legacies have plenty of apps on file. Plenty of guys waiting with a lot of experience but it doesn't matter unless you know somebody or meet certain qualifications. The only shortage is at the regionals now because of the crappy pay and the slim chance they might ever get an interview somewhere else. Even the regionals seem to keep getting people though.

being gay is not portected by EEO, we can put on your rejection slip. "Don't like gay piltos refuse to hire", and there is no legal recourse for the gay person to pursue. Don't ask, don't tell works just fine. However because there is pilot shortage if she had 2000TT, 1200 MEL and one year of 121 pilot time, she would be in the next class.
