PSA is filling crj slots from U furloughees and from within at this time. Probably gonna be a while before it gets to the outside world, I would imagine.

Im flying into dayton tomorrow and i plan to hand in a resume in at PSA headquarters. Who should i ask to talk to?? Who is the chief pilot?

You can hand in a resume, but I believe PSA has to offer positions to 1800 U pilots first, then all of the W/O guys next, then the rest of the world. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong......

Aren't only 50% of the jobs going to U furloughees? Or am I a few LOA's behind on that info?

yeah i wondering the same thing.... lets talk ballpark numbers-
if you have 30 planes, ballpark, thats 300 pilots.....now if you get 60 planes thats 600...so you guys need 300 more pilots.....my question is, they say 50% of pilots are J4J guys....is that 50% of 300 or 600

J4J is for 50% of jet vacancies. We'll end up with 60 jets and 0 Dorniers. So our current 300 or so pilots will fill 50% of the jet vacancies, and the remaining 300 or so will be offered to J4J participants. They get 50% of both seats, but their seniority is beneath all current PSA pilots. Most of them will be on reserve forever, while the current PSA pilots will enjoy a modest improvement in QOL, in terms of schedules.

On reserve forever is right. However, if I opt to take the PSA position, my job search is by no means suspended.

There will probably not be any hiring off the street for quite some time. Our VP says that we should not have to hire anyone if all the seats regarding J4J are filled, and last I heard, they are. Soooo, if PSA does start to hire, it will more than likely go to the furlughed PDT and ALG guys. Details of that are being worked out but both the MEC's of PDT and ALG know about it and were thankful it was an option for their pilots if things get really really bad.

I have been looking for almost a year and have come up with nothing promising. I don't like the idea of taking a job that probably should go to a w/o guy, but it's getting down to very few options out here, especially if you haven't flown in a while. And my wife, who has arthritis, is not gonna be able to support this family a whole lot longer. We all have to get employment of some kind soon.....
