A friend of yours???

IF we are/continue to hire captains off the street they will be sitting reserve for a REALLY LONG TIME. After todays announcement about Mesaba receieving RJs there will be no more growth at 9E after the 139th jet is on property (sometime this fall).

Maybe a handful and that is a real maybe... I know of about a dozen peeps that have the time but waiting for a junior enough award to give them left seat.

A handful of vacancy's before the music stops then on attrition alone. Street Captain's will be a thing of the past at PNCL shortly...

I dont know if you heard, but there will only be 138 jets at Pinnacle due to their dilligence. Safety first.

Hmm... don't quite get what you mean...
MKE is being fixed... 3701 is being replaced.. that still equals 139.. BTW the last Bombardier notice had 140.. but who's counting anyway:rolleyes:

Be careful what you say about Pinnacle. PCL_128 may get his feelings hurt and have you banned from this board.

On the contrary, I'm the first to tell everyone the cold hard truth about this hole we call Pinch-Nickle. I just don't take kindly to little kids like you and TRAINING getting their rocks off by flamebaiting. I see you've been banned already. Brings me a warm fuzzy feeling. :)

Good for you!! Finally someone who "woke up and smelled the coffee". Good luck in your new venture. I wish I would've done this way back when.

I have had the distinct honor (lol) to have flown with 3 street captains in the past couple of months. Two of them were complete autocratic buttheads who had never flown the CRJ before coming to Pinnacle. I attribute their behavior to nervousness, I guess. The third one was a guy younger than me (and I'm only 30), and he's probably one of the best captains I've ever flown with in my life. Extremely knowledgeable, good stick, very laid back, has plenty to teach you if you ask, and guess what, he'd flown CRJ's and Challengers at other companies before coming to Pinnacle. I wish I'd had the guy on my OE. We need to hire more folks like these, if we're going to hire street captains at all. But I hope we don't. lol

No more Street Captains.

The last of them are just finishing OE. There are at least two dozen currently in training as F/O's who already have the time but have no slots.

The last vacancy was reduced in size on the final by not awarding all the secondaries. All the senior F/O's who have been fence riding are finally getting on the bandwagon (pretty senior awards).

The ride is over - better find another circus to tag along with... ;)

I see PNCL is flying "Hub-to-Hub" starting in May. (MEM-DTW & MEM-MSP, but not returing the other direction)

I thought there was an agreement that none of the airlinks can do direct hub-to-hub ops.

Fill me in.

It's in the timetables.... CRJ and corresponding Flight #

This will cause an uproar. Time to get on the horn with NWA ALPA.

We can only do it with the 44 seaters. The scope clause treats anything under 45 seats as a different category of aircraft, so these flights are allowed. I'm sure the NW pilots won't be happy though, and I can't blame them.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

Always thought the hub-to-hub ops to be one of the last "safe-havens" for Mainline crews/aircraft; along with the Trans-Pacific & Atlantic routes. But hell, who knows, CRJ-200LR is coming out. BGR-Reykjavik-AMS is possible soon, I guess.

I assume that there are also a lot of NWA commuters that my be taking those PNCL flights. It's gotta be tough for that NWA pilot to have his jumpseat form signed by the PNCL pilot.

"Sure! Grab any seat in the back. Glad to have you aboard! Thank's for the route/job!" -PNCL Cpt.

Yeah that's what I say whenever I see a mainliner jumpseating. How did you get so clairvoyant? You know us 9E guys much too well. In the end who cares? It's just another opportunity to get bumped off the jumpseat on our own planes now.

I don't think it will be the signing of the JS form by a PCL capt as much as a Pinnacle guy bumping a mainline guy from the JS.

Tip of the iceburg. Cabatoge is the real long term threat.

Hey Carl,

From what I've heard around the Airlink grapevine, NW can bump 9E off of a 9E jumpseat.

There is actually a lot of debate on this lately. If you list as a nonrev on our phone system it will list nw guys as 5w and 9e peeps as 5 on 9e flights but supposedly this is not the way it is supposed to be. I have bumped nw guys on 9e flights everytime it has become a situation but it depends on who the gate agent likes more I think

The gate agent really has no say over the flight deck jumpseat. She can put whoever she wants in the back, but the seat up front belongs to the Captain. If he doesn't want the NW guy to bump the Pinnacle guy, then guess who gets to wait for the next flight? I would hope that the NW pilot wouldn't be stupid enough to even try to bump a Pinnacle guy off his own airline though.

A NWA pilot cannot "bump" a 9E pilot off of a 9E aircraft. It is clearly labeled under ACM priority codes in both the FOM and the jumpseat guideline handbook.

The back of the aircraft is a completly different story though

Hey dondk ol' buddy. Talk to Ed D. In MSP. Bet he tells you different regardless of what the FOM says.

You have to be kidding... then again your probably not.. just another pinnacleism

No NW (or XJ for that matter) guy gets priority over a 9E guy on the flight deck jumpseat... period.

And what the crap is this "regardless of what the FOM says."?? Yeah that's called a manual. That's the rule book.
