Heard from someone the other day that Pinnacle pulled everyone out of class that had less than 1000 hours total time including all the Gulfstreamers. Sounds like some guys were even as far as the sim and still got yanked.

Any truth to this? Could Pinnacle finally be done with PFT!!

We haven't heard a final word on that yet. I have been hearing the same rumors from FO program students. But I know that they didn't boot any sim students yet, and they only kicked one guy out of class. They called a few people and told them not to show up, but some never got a call. So they are planning on still showing up for class.

If true, another example of P-F-T's broken promises.

They have been doing a good job of keeping their promise since the deal started. I have never heard of GAA breaking a promise to a student when it comes to employment after the program is complete.

In other words, Gulfstream is now hiring FOs off the P-F-T intern program? Not what I've heard before.

Moreover, if Gulfstream assured its P-F-T grads that they would be hired by Pinnacle, that would be a promise it could not keep from the standpoint that some people are hired and some are not, notwithstanding this rumor that Pinnacle is no longer taking Gulfstream grads.

Once more, beware of any advertising that contains "First Officer," "First Officer Training Program" and "Guaranteed Interview."

Bobby, I don't usually step in to defend GIA, but let's stick to the facts. GIA has never guaranteed anyone an interview or job at Pinnacle. At least not that I'm aware of. When I was at GIA the mantra from the academy was always to do you job well and keep your nose clean and you MIGHT get offered a full time position at GIA or an interview at Pinnacle. I'm certainly not the biggest fan of GIA, but they haven't been lieing to students about that.

Gulfstream guarantees

Take a look at what Gulfstream says on its website:

Gulfstream Academy's airline-affiliated First Officer Program offers today's career-oriented aviation professionals many unique advantages, including our one-of-a-kind written guarantee that each and every Gulfstream graduate will be eligible for our preferential hiring program.

(emphasis added)

Sounds like a guarantee to me; whether this "guarantee" translates into a good-faith interview is questionable. Further, define "eligible." Does eligible, in Gulfstream parlance, mean that you get the interview or might get the interview? Most people who read this advertising are not lawyers or semanticists. This implies very strongly that an interview will come at the end of the pipeline, and that's how I take it. In other words, a reasonable person reading this representation should expect the interview after flying off the 250.

I say again, beware of advertising that states "guaranteed interview."
