Hello guys!

Just today I heard on the radio that Jetblue was going to purchase lots of RJ's from EMB. I can't recal the station, but I heard that when I was at work.

Any idea's if this is true, it so I would appreciate some information!

OK I see! Its amazing how fast JB is growing now!

Just to clarify two points... The Airbus growth is continuing as planned. The 190's won't arrive until late 2005. So, for the next two and a half years it's "steady as she goes".

There is a lot of time to prepare for the increased growth rate. It's one of the factors that makes me think it will work for JetBlue.

Light Blue

The name will be called:
LIGHT BLUE

The jets will do alot of feeding to there Long Beach hub initially.

They were talking to Scenic Airlines before 9/11 but after 9/11 they scraped those talks.

This is top top top secret stuff. But by the time that first jet arrives on the property, this name could and probably will change.

..and all of the flights will consist of a four-ship in echelon left formation. Aircraft (at this "Light Blue") will be equipped with drop tanks and aerial refueling capability...to allow easy conversion to the "Top Secret" military mission.
O.K. enough!

not a regional

From talking to their pilots it will not be a regional, it will be JB airlines flying 100 seat airplanes, same paint job, same seats as in the 320, four abreast, but with a bid more room, same inflight TV, and the pilots will be the JB senority list. They will fly the same routes at skinny times into the same airports the 320 use.
just a new piece of equipment at an exisiting airline.

Sounds very enticing! Hopefully they can grow into a large major carrier!

Any idea if they will be adding ANC as a destination to there constantly growing list?

Oh brother Skank & pilotyip

Hey Skank & pilotyip,

Its amazing how many pilots want to fly for an airline that they don't know anything about. Its kinda funny listening to pilots who think they are in the know but in actuality they don't know anything.

You said and I quote "They will fly the SAME ROUTES at skinny times into the same airports the 320 use." You obviously didn't mean to say this. That has to be one of the most uneducated sentences that i've heard on this board in a long time. For instance the distance from SEA to JFK is 2822 sm, the distance from JFK to LGB is 2850sm, the distance from LGB to FLL is 2804 sm do you really think the emb 190 can do this distance? If you do I have some ocean front property in Arizona for you. Do some research.

If you at least know how to comprehend what you read, then try reading my post one more time and you will see that i said "by the time that first jet arrives on the property, this name could and probably will change." Its not a conspiracy here its just a comment take it with a grain of salt, from someone who was in the know, unlike you. :) :)

Keep your greasy side down... Excuse me keep the greasy side down, i think thats how it goes.

Scramjet,

Listen to the audio of JetBlue's annoucement (found on the 'Blue website) and I think you'll understand what Skank and Yips was talking about regarding the use of the E190. David Neeleman addresses this directly.

1000 range

The 190 can fly 1000 legs, that is compatible with probably 75-80% of JB routes, BUF, TPA, and there new cities on the future growth map are places like RDU, DTW, FNT, IND, etc, all fit very well into the interchange mode, makes sense, other airlines do it, fly DTW-DFW on AA at 0800 and it is an MD-80, fly at 1130 and it is a EMB-145. True it will not fly OAK-JFK, until they get in-flight refueling.

sm?

Since when did any aviation professional since the mid 50's measure air distances in SM? Oh! thats right guy's flying old Cessna's have the outside scale on the airspeed indicator in SM.

other airlines do it - and lose money at it.

Hey scramjet,
last time I looked, I was sitting in the left seat of an Airbus at Jetblue. Not that I am an expert on this, but I do know more than you do about the whole situation. I do know that this is not a regional jet, and it will be flown by Jetblue pilots. If you have any doubt about either of those facts then guess you'll just have to wait and see.
You can try your Lightblue theory out somewhere else. Nice try!

So the guys and gals that fly the Regional Jets won't be treated like second class citizens?!! Jet Blue will no doubt be getting alot of resume's from express pilots. Most of uss would love to help put the nails in Airways coffin.

okay, you guys are way behind on the specs of RJ's. The 190:

Range

The EMBRAER 190 has a range of 2,300 nm (4.260 km) and a maximum cruise speed of Mach .80 (870 km/h).

Scram, thanks for attributing that quote about the EMB flying the same routes as the 320 to me, but I didn't say anything of the sort. What I did say was purely sarcastic, and in response to your ludicrous assertions. Top Secret? Scenic Airways? Please get real, and try again.

They have spoken...
I have spoken...
My lips are sealed with Chapstick.

No hard feelings. Blue skies to you.

P.S. Good point SWA/FO

I would like to know what the payscale would be for the new EMB-190 and would you be hired into the smaller a/c and then upgrade or what.....
