I think his point is that until you have been at JB for more than 3 years you truly don't understand the culture and cannot make such foolish decisions as to advocate a union which of course you wouldn't make if you had been at JB for more than 3 years and TRULY UNDERSTOOD THE CULTURE.

No matter what airline experience or lack thereof you bring to the job and no matter how professional you are or how hard you work for JB you just can't get it until you have seasoned yourself against a backdrop of heartwarming IROPS in which your love for the company will grow and you will see that JB is really your bestest friend that will always act in your best interest.

Regardless of what you meant (I almost typed irregardless, just for fun, this is flightinfo after all), the attitude I am rather unashamedly making fun of was very prevalent at JB during my first two years. I see that kind of mentality disappearing since the PCG debacle.

Now it appears that the Captains are starting to realize just how much they have to lose.

As for the thread subject, I find it unconscionable that JB would even consider a single pay rate (the current 320 pay rate), essentially giving MILLIONS of dollars to roughly 50% of the pilot group. Especially considering @111 airbus FO's left last year, a number more than 2/3rds of our total attrition. BUT, and it's a big BUT (pause for effect), those 190 rates have to go up. And by that I mean yesterday.

Not to mention that we would then be tied to one pay rate -- what happens if we (gasp) get a few widebodies?

And by widebodies, I don't mean fat a$$ pilots or stews. We already have many of them.
