Is that like DN saying you can use your seniority to get a payraise, because you can fly more hours or is it like RC, saying we can give ourselves a raise by being more productive?

With all due respect, it sounds equally bad coming from them or from you

Actually I was just stating a fact.. Take a look at the monthly awards. Anything else you get from this factual post is your perception

Hmmm give your self a raise by working more. Sounds like B.S. to me, but there are guy's out there that actually buy into this train of thought. It is time to form an in house representative group for the pilots. Pay is not the only issue we have to contend with at JB, it does work just look at SWA. Representation doesn't mean it has to be an adverse relationship with management.

It has been discussed and is one of the many options that the company is looking at. I would not bank on anything just yet and wait until March or April when the pay review is over...by then we will all know much more.

LH

This is stuff compensation committee's look at. However, in the end it ultimately comes down to 'supply and demand' and 'employee retention'.

Another part of the puzzle is the airlines are able to track exactly the length of time of pay-back based on length of service vs. retraining costs, vs. training events, vs. cost of interviewing, etc....

I can get fairly in depth.

However, on the "surface" if a company is considering "streamlining" their pay scales, and in the case of JB, it would ultimately result in 190 rates becoming 320 rates, then you can bet your sister that "retention" is a BIG part of the equation.

At some point, even though there is always someone willing to do the job for less, that "someone" will ultimately be a person that is NOT employable.

"hire smart"

"pay smart"

Word is from the squadron no raises at B6 this year. Big boys say they can't afford it.

When did you hear this? I have been hearing just the opposite.

Yea, I just heard that as well....after I posted. Well, who knows at this point what will happen. The rumors are flying in both directions.

Heck, every time he opens his mouth, something bad comes out.

He is rapidly becoming a poster child for why people unionize.

Take the hours flown, the amount of money we made, the number of planes we have, the colossal February 14th mistake, company mentality of one group being equal to another and the lack of any sort of negotiating committee and all this adds up to no raise. Face reality fellas.

That's okay. Another year of pay erosion and management arrogance will only help the union drive. Bring it on.
