Back to the fares... Right after USAir went BK they had a rediculous sale to Europe... London was $100... USAir soon emerged to be the power house of the industry.
Finally and this is important that I beat the General to this. The Delta Pilots contract is not a grab bag.
If ALPA takes the pensions for the RJ's they are officially the dumbest negotiators on the planet. The pension obligation can't be met. Further more no one can say where Delta will be in six months let alone 20 or 30 years... The RJ's however would show up in a month.
If I'm a member of a Union that still thinks it should try and get a pension I want out now.

She has never seen it. But you can be sure that ALPA will hear its arguements from the Bankruptcy Court read back to them in the RJDC litigation. It is the same crap that has gone on since 1999, but the Court gives it transparency that ALPA's super secret negotiations never had before (aside from the RJDC's sources from within the Delta MEC).

But again, it probably doesn't matter. Your ALPA attorneys already stated they would sail your junior pilots down the river for pension protections. DCI flying and junior pilots are just negotiating fodder - always has been - as evidenced by the fact that we are in this mess to begin with.

Fins, Are you sure about that? The reason Simon was asking for the saving of the pension is because he and the rest of us know that Delta has NO intention of doing it. By asking for that, we are putting value to the pension, and we are making Delta say they don't intend to save it and we will get credit from the court for that savings too. United saved $645 million a year in dumping the pesnions---was any of that realized while negotiating? That could have saved them from giving up other things.

Also, the last proposal for up to "200 70 seat RJs" will be the total of 70 seaters you get, and remember you will be parking many of your 50 seaters eventually. Doesn't sound like too much expansion.

Bye Bye--General Lee
