Well ... now the dogs have been set loose and so it's only a matter of time before this thing is over. Hopefully it'll be short and relatively painless. In the coming months we'll see if it was the smart move or not - I hope it was.

I would have gladly joined an anti-war protest on Tuesday, but now that my brothers in the Third Infantry Division are under fire it's time to rally behind our people. Get this thing done and get back home guys ... "Rock of the Marne"!

I think Snakum and 350 should here this!:p

What about this is an attack on you? I think it drives home the point I (and others) were trying to make on another thread. I agree with you on some issues, but on others I just think you are completely off the mark. It must be my competetive side to not let things go when I feel strongly about an issue. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. There is no personal attack going on, I don't even know who the he11 you are, but the next time I run across someone named Snakum I'll introduce myself as Swass and we can debate these issues until the cows come home:eek: . Give me a break this is an internet board, an aviation internet board at that. Let's get back to why we are all here, flying. The political boards are accepting new members I'm sure.

My statement was not specifically in reference to this thread, nor was it necessarily directed at you, either. There were quite a few personally insulting comments in the other threads that were just immature ranting. I make it a rule never to get personal or insulting to people in internet forums, no matter how strongly I disagree with what they say. It would just make me look stupid. In person, however, I would respond to insults quicker than most because I inherited a double dose of testosterone. And, there is at least one regular poster here who could attest to that. He's seen my rather tempermental side being directed at a confused young man at an FBO. :D But online ... it'd just look ignorant and immature. It's not like we can 'step outside' when one of us finally has had enough, so any bravado is patently false. Debating politics, policies, or even Airbus v.s. Boeing isn't IMHO anything to get riled about to the point of irrational confrontation. It's merely an exchange of ideas and I am often suprised at how much I learn by listening to the other side.

Concerning the debate about governement policies: in my experience pilots will argue about anything. We tend to be a rather competitive group of folks. If you'd prefer not to participate then please feel free to do so. However, if we want to debate till the cows come home please don't pee on our parade ... just don't read the threads. Very simple n'est-ce pas?

Agreeing to disagree ... again,

Minh

The little girl on the tape was typical of the inane, historically ignorant, and emotionally charged individual that is out protesting now. I saw a segment where a news reporter interviewed some protesters and the results were hard to watch. Not one of them had any historical knowledge, knowledge of mid eastern culture, nor of real politik. They were all pie-in-the-sky "useful fools" . . . . . the same warmed over dull Soviet lovers of the sixties and seventies.

I wrote KOKO and asked them if this was ligit. This woman was clueless.

Maybe I don't understand, hasn't the mere days of this already corroborated what we were trying to prove? SH declared he had no more Scuds and complied with all the UN declarations.. He has shot Scuds at our troops and Kuwait city! This shows he lied in his weapons declarations, he could not be negotiated with, and further sanctions would only continue to hurt the Iraqi people and give SH some propoganda to throw at his people about the "Evil Countries." Thus the UN was no longer an affective vehicle for maintianing peace in this region and for the world, which it is supposed to represent.
