We are seroiusly looking at iPads for our department but are wanting to find some sort of mount or device to secure the thing. I am looking at mounts from www.ram-mount.com if anyone has one you like let me know. currently looking at: http://www.ram-mount.com/CatalogRes...45050057057045050045065080056085/Default.aspx,

Thanks for any input.

Also, if you have an iPad, which one did you get. I am looking at the 16GB w/ 3G

Which aircraft, the 560XL? As much as I like the iPad, I dislike the mounting I've seen because some view or another is blocked. I've also seen mounts on 550-560's off to the side but they block much of the CB panel. Blocking systems CB's is a bad idea IMO.
Wait for March 2 for announcement of the updated iPad. Rumored to be faster, lighter, thinner, and with more memory. 16GB is fine if all you do is charts, but I quickly killed the rest with movies and music. If you use Foreflight, plan on needing 8-10GB for charts.(updating before the current cycle expires tacks on another 4GB to the existing 4GB of charts).

We have the Ipads in our KA and BJ. I would recommend the 32gb with 3G. You have to have 3G version if you want to use the GPS in Foreflight. We use Foreflight and Jeppesen. Both work very well. With the 3G activated you can get wx and notams at any time on the ground. As far as mounting them I would not, much better to put them in a nice book style case and slid between the seats. We have had zero trouble with them this way. Battery will last all day for the most part. We have been using them for over a year now.
