Is there a list anywhere of goods and bads that employers look for in a candidate during a hiring interview board? I did a search and did not find anything.

If no such list exists, anyone have some tips? Specifically, what to do and not to do during the board itself.

Thanks!

Board interview tips

I'm surprised that Resume Writer or others haven't jumped in. She/they still may.

Probably the best $0.02 advice is to be yourself. Be sincere. See if you have anything in common with any of the board members. Common interests forge bonds. If any of the members are ex-military pilots, chances are they'll try to bond with you.

I knew an instructor at ERAU who interviewed with Express I in Memphis. He had his glider ratings. Turns out his interviewer did as well. So, they started talking gliders. The next thing he knew, he was hired.

Hope that helps even a little and prompts further responses to a good question.

If you drink a 750ml bottle of Jack Daniels the night before the interview then drink about a gallon of scope on the way to the inverview supplemented by 3-4 strong breath mints and a spray or two every 20-30 seconds during the interview. Chew the mints to allow that intake to be possible. Good luck.
