Dark Grey, no pinstripe with a tailored white shirt and good looking tie.

Black is too funeral. Pinstrip can work but also can look too pimpish.

I'd go with a charcoal or navy blue if you have one but the grey suit won't be bad either. Conservative tie(stripes work). Brooks Brothers has great conservative suits at reasonable prices. Make sure your shoes are neat and shined.

I'd recommend dark navy blue as well. Men's Warehouse hooked me up with the entire ensemble.

I would avoid pin stripe.

2 button dark navy blue suit with a red tie and a pinpoint. Make sure those shoes are shined too. Haircut no less than 1 week before so you can give it time to grown in and groom.

Brooks Brothers has an excellent selection for this stuff.

Oh and for the LOVE OF GOD... People please remove that tag on the cuff of your sleeve. It's found on some coats and jackets. It's a manufacturing tag and not to be worn!!!! Can't say how bad this looks. It is not supposed to be worn.

If you are going to a DAL interview this is what they want to see.
-Dark blue (plain or pinstripe) two button, no double breasted. Three button is O.K. but they prefer two button.
-White tailored shirt (both days) Not off white.
-Red conservative tie.
-Black Shoes and belt. Prefer round toe shoes.
-Neat hair cut
-Do not lie back or cross your legs in the interview.

One of the interview prep people I talked with reminded me it is not your day to wear something distinctive, but your day to show you conform to what they are looking for. I wore two button dark blue suits with slightly different ties (depending on what was looked for at each company per current interview info), white shirt and black captoe/wingtips. Don't skimp on the shoes. A $400 suit with old nasty shoes looks like sh!+. Just my 2 cents, but it worked both times.

Showing up for a JB interview in a Frosty the Snowman costume oughta be good for a laugh or two. A video of the other applicants trying not to crack up would be priceless.

Otherwise, you can't go wrong with dark navy, a white (not dingy crashpad yellow w/epaulet tabs) shirt, a conservative dark red tie and a shoeshine. If you were in the military and owned a pair of patent leather shoes, push your chair back from the desk, retrieve the shoes from your closet and place them in the garbage can. If you're buying a suit for the occasion, skip the pinstripes. If you're considering a suit that you already own that has prominent pinstripes, buy a suit for the occasion. If you've got other marketable skillz, consider simply not showing up for the interview.

Go rent that movie "Bottle Rocket" and you will discover why a properly fitted jumpsuit is a propos for any occasion. For a jetBlue interview, make sure you go royal, and never muted denim or worse ... navy. Teal is only good from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

I wore a nice sports coat and tie with a white shirt and khaki slacks for the "test day". I just wanted to be relaxed and at the end of the day I fit in with what the employees were wearing.

On the interview day I wore an olive green suit and striped shirt with french cuffs.

It actually was a very nice suit, just not the cookie cutter out fit most applicants wear.

Don't get too wound up over the suit. As long as it is business appropriate, clean and pressed, you'll do fine. The interview is about you, not your suit. Remember, they want to hire you, not your fashion consultant.

If you are on the border line, conforming is one thing that will be in your favor. It also goes along the same line as previous attendance. They are looking for pilots that will not cause waves and do the job.

A standard JC Penney, Men’s warehouse, Dillard’s, blah blah blah…. blue suit with a white shirt, black shoes, and striped tie is all you need. Sure buy the $600 Brooks Brothers suit if it makes you feel better. (I bought it and got hired, but I guarantee you the price of my suit didn’t mean didly.)

The most important thing is a firm handshake, and polite smile.

If the folks doing the interview have an 18 year old daughter that is a flight attendant, are they satisfied that they want a pilot like you to be in the cockpit? On duty and off?
