I still have a year or two till I apply for an internship at my university. I was just curious if anyone has gone through internship with a major. I don't know how the internships are progressing with the way the industry is. I am just curious if anyone out there knows anything. You can give me your experience of internships, if you had the chance to go through one. Thanks for your info. It is greatly appreciated.

jspilot,

Check your PMs.

Thanks Chase. Southwest is the company I would like to do my internship with. I looks like a great program. Just wish I was closer to graduating. Thanks again

Im also looking at southwests program fro an internship prolly within a year or so. Finally got a response from the recruiter I guess there was a change.
Other internships I know of from my search as far as majors go include: American, unpaid in DFW and Alaska in Seatle. United, Delta, and NW have confirmed that theirs are suspended. Let me know if you hear anything different from any of those. What school are you at? What year?
-good luck to you

I am at Louisiana Tech University. I have 2 years left. For Southwest's internship it says you have to be one semester(for me it is a quarter) from graduation. So I still have a while.

Hey UI, is that one of those new Archers ya'll have, or did they retrofit the Arrows? Back in my day, all we had were Sports and Sundowners... We didn't have any glass like that! N66338 had a loran but no one knew how to use it.

Wow, thats too bad.... the equipment is VERY new now. The picture as my avatar isnt one of ours but our arrows are comprably equipped. We have like 18ish 1999 archer III's 2 2000's with garmin GPS. half the others have kln 94's while the other half are only ndb equipped. We just got our 6th arrow. Garmins are standard. We have one with autopilot and dual garmins. We still have a couple of the sundowners around but they are used for research. Duchesses were sold off and now new seminoles are here.

This page has some pictures but the website hasnt been revamped in while. cant wait to get into the new seminoles in the fall!

How well is the Stearman N49999 doing... That's what I got my training in, heheh... Actually, Sports, Sundowners, Arrows, and Duchesses were in my hay-day. Say hi to Mr. Weinberg for me if he's still there in charge. I rolled a couple times into CMI before I left the AF with a Navy T-34C, it was great to see the new equipment flying. How much use do you guys get on that new runway out there??? BTW at JetBlue we try to keep the blue side down...

Nice :D
Yes Mr. Weinberg is still here....who shall I say is saying hello? (linda rondstat?) hehe. Wish we still had a stearman but what can ya do? New runway gets quite a bit of use however now student solos get to worry about "traffic on the paralell" and dual tower frequencies when its busy. Just one more thing to give tower a headache ;)
