Did you see to whom the presentation was given? Embraer Partners & Suppliers Conference.

Quite like Boyd to compare a 50-seater to a 95-seater and call it an epiphany. I want to see it compared to the A318 and 737-600, but he didn't (or wouldn't).

Nor does Boyd back up his claim that turboprops are dead. I'd like to see a CASM comparison between the EMB-170 and the DHC-8-Q400 and ATR-72. I don't understand his prediction that fuel is the only cost that can still be cut, and yet turboprops are not a viable option. If indeed fuel is the last cost to cut, turboprops will be a very viable option!

Boyd's figures just look too shady for me. I'm a huge proponent of the new EMB aircraft and fully predict they will do extremely well, however I'm even more convinced that Boyd is proficient at nothing more than making numbers lie to please the people signing his checks.

Where's Lowecur? He'd be eat'n this up!

Frankly Boyd and his group will tell you what ever it is you want them to tell you! You are paying for it!

He doesn't need to compare it, all that is done for them at the ERJ website. You'd just be telling Partners & Suppliers something they already know.:)

Nor does Boyd back up his claim that turboprops are dead. I'd like to see a CASM comparison between the EMB-170 and the DHC-8-Q400 and ATR-72. The Q400 is very competitive CASM wise to the 170. I don't have a comparison, but I've read quite a bit about it. It's really a question of preference. I think most of the powers-to-be at airlines are aware that people find jets to be a faster and smoother ride. Also, perception is they are safer (whether justified or not). In the end, that puts more butts in the seats.
