Quite like Boyd to compare a 50-seater to a 95-seater and call it an epiphany. I want to see it compared to the A318 and 737-600, but he didn't (or wouldn't). He doesn't need to compare it, all that is done for them at the ERJ website. You'd just be telling Partners & Suppliers something they already know.![]()
Nor does Boyd back up his claim that turboprops are dead. I'd like to see a CASM comparison between the EMB-170 and the DHC-8-Q400 and ATR-72. The Q400 is very competitive CASM wise to the 170. I don't have a comparison, but I've read quite a bit about it. It's really a question of preference. I think most of the powers-to-be at airlines are aware that people find jets to be a faster and smoother ride. Also, perception is they are safer (whether justified or not). In the end, that puts more butts in the seats.
