Heard on my commute today from a NWA capt. that PCL is not able to secure insurance for any more crjs. The company who presently insures them will not let them add any more a/c due to ? No reason given by this guy. Just a rumor, figured I'd bring it to the appropriate place.

Karl.

Believe it or not, I actually heard the same thing about 6 months ago. I don't know the reason though.

Do you think the "Insurance" company would care about safety procedures and blah blah blah.... It's all about the "Kwans", man...

Show me the money!

Seriously, i haven't heard anything like that, but then, we can barely keep our staffing with our current fleet, so there you have it.

Yeah those silly safety procedures that prevent the insurance company for cutting a cheque on a lost multi million dollar airframe, plus whatever other expenses. You know "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." You're right about one thing though insurance companies like making money, not paying it back out.
