Bad Andy,
Has USAPA been by to promise you guys the moon yet? I'm sure they'll figure out a way to slot new hires just above the most senior AWA pilot and once they sign the new SWA$++ contract that should give you guys a pretty nice quality of life...lol.....
just playing around no harm intended.
Actually, they told us that all the westies are going to be forced to resign and be rehired at the bottom of the list. And, all of us newbies are going to get all the west guys' longevity. That will solve all the problems. And, we're shooting for Cathay "A-Scale" wages, not just SWA...
Before anyone rolls in on me, I'm just kidding. I'm at the bottom of the list either way... However, to avoid pissing anyone off, I think I'll just vote for Teamsters (the write-in candidate)...
(Now, how long until this becomes an east-vs-west or why not to work here thread?)
touche!
that was funny.
without degenerating into an Alpa vs USAPA thread i will say one thing. now that you are on property it would be beneficial to take ownership of your career. If you write in Teamsters and Alpa loses by a vote (possible) and you end up as a 10 year LOA 93 FO with a bankrupt in-house union mired in legal battles remember this thread....By thier own admission USAPA stated that getting a new contract will be a LONG process as they would be starting from scratch with an extremely fractured group.
