MEC approved the TA (Malone did NOT say "unanimously"). Now sent to pilots for ratification (voting Nov 1 thru Nov 11)

32.5% reduction from May 2004 rates effective Dec 1, to stay flat for the length of the 5-year contract.

****Defined benefit plan frozen. New defined contribution plan.****

Many changes to work rules.

PBS.

Options to purchase 30mm shares of Delta stock (15%).

What's PBS?

Not being informed to the highest degree of accuracy I hesitate to articulate for fear that I may deviate from the true course of rectitude. In short, sir, I'm very ignorant and don't know what "PBS" stands for in the message about the DAL TA.

would that be preff. bid system?

PBS - Preferential Bidding System. There are no lines of time published for the month. Each pilot enters preferences for the trips/days he wants to fly. A computer optimizes the entire bid to maximize productivity.

We had that down at Delta Express. It wasn't that bad, if you were senior on the 737. Sure, it does create efficiencies, but remember we are adding an extra 6% of flying starting Feb 1st (project Morpheus), and we are still losing a huge amount of Captains. We have lost 600 since last May, and will lose another 400 or more in the next few months. When you lose Captains, upgrades do increase. There might not be as many due to the increased cap ( I believe up to 85 hours), but there will be some. Also, I believe other parts of our contract were not touched (I will have to check on that)--like our days off etc. I will go check it again. This whole thing $ucks, but it could have been worse I guess....

General, I agree with the first half of your sentence, but the second has yet to be determined.

It's pretty ugly, but we still don't have the entire TA. It could get quite a bit worse, or not. It depends on how much we might have preserved or minimized changes in certain items such as the recall of furloughed pilots, duty rig, days off, scope, etc. There are still quite a few unknowns.

Whats the verdict on scope? was it touched?

Somebody have the balls to post the TA on this board?

Medeco
Have the balls? That's pretty harsh wording for someone who's been at ASA as long as you have (12/9/02 right?)

You, actually are a disgrace to the Delta pilots.

Its a real shame they could not see this side of you when you interviewed for your job with Delta.

I have never met a Delta pilot like yourself
.
you, 10/24

He is the most unprofessional mgt. type I have witnessed in a long time.
you, 9/9

At least you're an equal opportunity disgruntled F/O..... just remember, what you say in public is a reflection of not just yourself, but your peers as well.

I'm sure you take much joy in the fact that many Delta familes will now take a paycut of an amount more then you make.

The TA isn't out yet jacka**, I'm sure it'll be posted here as soon as it is.

Good luck in your own negotiations.

FDJ2,

From what I have heard from my sources (which are unconfirmed), the rest isn't too bad. We shall see.

One thing here that is big is that for people not leaving on DEC 1st, their retirement will be reduced from 60% of your FAE to 49% I believe. That will create a HUGE number of retirements on DEC 1st ---and some will stay on until their replacements are trained.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Wow, you can do a search.

I only meant that this has been debated for a very long time and now it will show who was right and who was wrong on the predictions.

This is a very hard time for all of Delta and I am not one of those who is happy for the hardship this will inflict on many people.

I am glad the union demanded to have specific knowledge of where the money will go.

My comment was strictly on the debate and the few on this board who think they know everything about the outcome

I have defended the DAL mainline pilots many times from the right seat while listening to many of our senior and not so senior captains talk about what idiots the mainline guys are.

So, leave my Sack out of this.

and

ASA's new contract has been stalled in a lot of ways due to the uncertain outcome of your negotiations.

I was not trying to laugh in the face of any DAL pilot nor would I.

I want to know what the immediate future holds for ASA/Comair pilots

Your TA will answer many of those questions.

Medeco: You know how you get into an argument with a woman and then you realize you should just stop talking because there is no way you can win.
Now is that time for you in this post.

It sounded like this. The delta pilots wake up and see that the only way they can save their company from declaring bancruptcy is by making huge sacrifices to their hard earned PWA. Then you step in later in the day and say the word scope. Sounds like you are saying what's in it for me, at a time where people are going through tough times.
Now, I know what you meant, but you should try to be a little more politically correct around this industry. Especially on days like today.

I'm sure you guys will be fine. Delta has the power, ASA is the first born and favorite, and Comair is the kid in school who is always in the principals office for something. Some things never change.
