Sad, seems like they were just aviation students at that university.

Five Killed in Small Plane Crash in Indiana
Friday , April 21, 2006
http://oas.foxnews.com/RealMedia/ad...l/38363831393531363433333336663130?_RM_EMPTY_ BLOOMINGTON, Indiana — A small plane crashed in foggy conditions, killing all five people aboard, police said Friday.
Authorities believe students from Indiana University were among those on board, said Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Joe Watts.
Police believe a female was piloting the plane with four male passengers aboard.
The aircraft was en route to the Bloomington airport from Lafayette, Ind., about 90 miles (140 kilometers) to the northwest. Bloomington is home to Indiana University.
The plane disappeared from radar about midnight, Watts said. The wreckage was found just south of the Monroe County Airport about 4:15 a.m. EDT Friday, he said.
Authorities said the pilot activated the lights at the airport from the cockpit but never landed.
Officials at Hulman Field in Terre Haute, Indiana, which monitors the Monroe County Airport at night, informed emergency officials after the plane disappeared from radar, said Mike Cornman, deputy fire chief in Van Buren Township, Indiana.
Residents made an emergency call to report what sounded like a plane in distress, he said. Some reported hearing a loud boom.

That sucks. Anymore news? BR 2SM vis under a 300 OVC at midnight with 4 passengers? Yikes.....I don't think you'd see pilot controlled lights. Wonder what kind of approach she was trying to make.

As stated in the brief above, she was cleared for the ILS rwy 35.
Ya'll be careful out there.

Oh man that sucks! I wonder what the weather was when she took off for Bloomington! Condolances to the families and friends.

Part of me wants to know who it was...I know a few aviation guys over at IU!!

Indiana University does not have an aviation program.
