Indian ALTP

Anyone have any info on obtaining the Indian ALTP? (Their version of the ATP) How do you obtain one? Google was fruitless.....Does India operate under JAA ratings or FAA???? Im willing to move abroad to be paid in accordance with what we are worth as pilots and wanted to do some research with India becoming a booming hotspot for LCC carriers....not that the Indians will pay a lot, but I thought its worthwhile to research before knocking it.......

www.pprune.com might have some answers. I know of at least two Yanks flying over there, so probably not the hardest thing. Although both of them say India is far from Paradise.

There is a fair amount of decent paying expat work to be had, so you shouldn't have a hard time, depending of course of what type you are current in.

You need 500 hours in type to fly as Captain. They will give you a licence validated from your FAA ATPL and a short air law exam. To be an FO, you need a type rating and the air law exam.

The company that employees you should arrange everything.

No type, no licence, no job.
