Some one might get a kick out of this one. I applied this morning for a position and as I was talking with the fellow he was looking over my resume. To my begrins he asked, has anyone told you that you are over qualified. I think to myself, well thats just great. I'm not qualified to fly the turboprop because of insurance and this guy won't hire me because of my resume.

Are you sure he wasn't being sarcastic? :D

Coffee,

Why didn't you just take out your check book?? I thought you were set with the 14k PFT SIC job?

Well if you decided that it wasn't a good idea to PFT then good for you!

Just how are you over qualified.?

Over qual'd for VFR DAY...

As I have not been getting anything close to full time employment for the last 6 months, I thought it might be fun to banner tow. Well the guy advertising it was really nice and gave me some other leads. But heck after all the hell night weather I have been flying for the two plus years, all the same, I would of liked the day VFR for a change. But then my chiropractor would begin to miss me…

Overqualified

If you think you're overqualified, I had a friend tell me over ten years ago that the reason I wasn't getting a commuter job was because I was overqualified. Commuter mins back then were 1500 total-500 multi and an ATP. I had my first commuter interview when I stood at approximately 2800 total and approximately 630 of multi. I wasn't hired. I continued to build on those totals and had three more interviews and a cattle call, all with negative results. In the meantime, people with far fewer hours than me were being interviewed and hired. They were flight instructors, just like me. Nothing to set them apart, like 135 time. Go figure.

Good luck with your job search.

I have flown charter(135), commuter(135), and corporate(91) throughout my career. One job was flying 90 hrs. a month. So, I get this 91 gig flying 20 hrs. a month. Great deal right!

Five years later the job goes dead.

Now prospective employers say they fly 50 to 70 hrs. a month and say " We work hard. I don't think you would be happy here."

So I'm either over qualified or forgot what it's like to work for a living.

WTF
