Yes..... I am thoroughly bored.

Is it just me or has the spirit of this MB suffered with Mark's passing?

Not sure how to phrase what I am getting at here, but hopefully someone else knows what I mean.

You're bored - I'm freaking beside myself. I had 2-1/2 weeks off so I took an opportunity to do some contract flying. Spent 6 days up in Wisconsin and northern Illinois freezing my arse off - but that was OK, I got to fly with a good guy and even better, they paid me a pile of $$$ to make the trip. But I digress, the able aviators at Southwest Airlines diverted to Phoenix, it's 1 o'clock in the freaking morning, they wouldn't give any of the passengers a meal or hotel voucher and I'm trying to get comfortable in a stinking airport lounge chair. Hopefully we'll be able to continue on to San Diego in another 7 hours or so. I hate flying on the airlines, any airline - they're nothing but cattle cars. On the bright side, it's job security for us corporate guys.

Dude you aren't kidding about that. *THE* ABSOLUTE *WORST* part of my job is having to get on an airliner. ANY airliner. I hate it. I can't stand it for longer than ten minutes.

All things considered it's probably better than being stuck in an airport (sorry man--been there, got the t-shirt, and I sympathize).

I used to LOVE SOUTHWEST now I can't stand them either. The gate agents are getting cranky and the load factors are so high it is impossible to find a comfortable seat. They don't even let crew pre-board any more so I get to bang every elbow and knee all the way down the aisle as I clamber through the masses to get to my favorite seat in the aft row.

*sigh*

I hate airlines... Thank gawd for Corporate and Charter.

Good luck tonight/tomorrow getting home.

Update

It's now 4:15 in the morning. I just woke up from spending 2-1/2 laying on one of those small airline blankets on the floor that the gate agents here at PHX threw our way. In the spirit of Christmas (peace, goodwill towards man, etc.) I will refrain from expressing what I am really thinking right now. I will resist. I will resist. I am strong, I will resist...

I feel your pain. I have to airline out to the worst coast next week. 6 hours in a middle seat.

Everytime I get on an airliner I just look at it as job security. I just keep saying to myself, "self, their is no way my boss would ever do this." Then I take to Tylenol pm's and 2 beers and wake up in SFO.

I got to "enjoy" UAL and Delta this week. Could someone tell me how I commuted for 15 years to STL, JFK and various other garden spots without slitting my wrists?

Counting my blessings. Merry Christmas to all! (Except those rotten SOB frac dispatchers who've taken all the slots to EGE, ASE and RIL but don't use them! A$$HOLES!!!!) ;) TC & family

SWA from NY to SFO? With stops in BWI, DAL, MDW (in the winter) and LAS, only to wind up in Jokeland (OAK). I would sooner walk.

Happy Festivus, love the pictures of the Golden.

Give my best to the Mrs.

Have a Merry TC, I think you ran into a Jet Aviation buddy of mine the other day, on a crew bus. Thanks for bad mouthing me, LOL.

Hope you guys are home.

The rest of the story...

Southwest's 6:30 a.m. evolved into 9:30, but we finally made it. San Diego Lindberg was as "constipated" as any airport I've ever seen - traffic, security lines, 4 or 5 flights worth of baggage coming onto each of 3 carosels at random. What a freak'n zoo. Public transportation - you gotta luv it. I think that if all I had to look forward to in a 35 year career is flying 737s on domestic routes I'd slit my wrists, but hey that's just me.
