I just finished reading "Hard Landing". All I can say is that I wish I had read it ten years ago. What an informative yet inconspicuously negative work. The conclusion I have derived after putting the book down can simply be placed into two alternatives. The first being we are now seeing a natural progression of events in relation to pilot pay, lifestyle, etc that will not reverse due in a large part to deregulation. The second alternative is a cycle sure to return to a more favorable position for pilots due to a free market. In this simple pilots mind I unfortunately must sway toward alternative one. In a way I wish now that I never picked the book up and continued in my career as an aircraft management pilot. However, as they say you know what rolls down hill and I feel that sooner then later I may be getting a mouth full. Let's hope for better times ahead. Not flamebait just venting some frustration as I am sure others may be feeling at this time. However, If you disagree with me please share as it will make me feel better about this crazy business.
