I agree...there is less direct emphasis on "who you know". It usually gets you an interview, but not the job anymore....(MOST of the time). I have gotten a handful of guys here an interview where I work, but only one got the job. I dont know why.

Just checking on the word of mouth stuff. People may hesitate to share "off the books" info on decent openings if the info somehow winds up on flightinfo.com a week later...

be well.

OK, I see we are on the same page. And you are right on about getting the interview, and I should have made that a point in my previous post, but there you go again, always 1 step ahead of a brotha'! Good on you.

As for the word of mouth thing, once again, great minds think alike. I know of a job that is coming open in Kansas City this summer (it's a done deal, the job will be open and they are going to hire), but I wont talk about it yet because it is not posted and I dont know if they are going to post it or not, but there are a lot of guys here that want to get back to or already live there and would want something more stable flying a great airplane for a very good company. If they saw the job posted here, I am sure the fit would hit the shan, and I don't want to be part of any of that. I'm personally not interested in the job, but would like to see it go to a good guy on here that has paid his dues and needs something better.

Legacy, you're a hall of famer in my book, so I will apoligize to you. Sorry about that, my bad. I don't care what G200 says about you, you're alright.

As for Valero, they just posted that same job again last week (http://valero.hrdpt.com/cgi-bin/a/highlightjob.cgi?jobid=1349477)

They are also looking for a scheduler and an A&P.

Hahahhaa! Not a problem. No apology necessary. Had you not posted it I wouldn't have known about it to apply.

Valero told me they had three full-time positions open. All I got was a phone interview. I don't know what they are looking for. I am cool to fly with. I know my sh*t. KSAT is home.

Probably someone figured out who I was and my rep screwed me. Way unfair but that's life.

I am looking for any decent pure corporate jobs in Texas or Oklahoma (Kansas would probably be acceptable, too) and anything in a Legacy as long as the pay is good.

4000+ Total.
1100+ PIC Turbine.
Grad Degree.
Hard Worker.
Hot Wife.
Eager to Learn.
Easy to Work With.

Give a guy a chance!!!

I find that incredibly hard to believe... :D

After hiring people that I have recommended my past employers have found that having just one person with a similar disposition as mine is usually for the best.. Any more than that just becomes troublesome. Just ask FurloughedAgain.

Why didn't ya say something sooner? I didn't know all that. Ok, here is what I am going to do for you. I'm gonna make a phone call tomorrow and take care of this for ya. Then, to drive the point home, I'm gonna send some of my boys down there for a face2face, just so they know that I mean business. I mean, that's the least I could do for ya. My boys will take the CP out to the back alley until he sees things your way. Before I send them down, let me know how much you want to make, the days you are available to work for the next year (nothing too specific is necessary, you know, something along the lines of Tue-Thurs only, no weekends, 1st right of refusal on-call, etc) what airplane you are willing to show them how to fly, and what title/position you would like, and if you want someone's job, no problem, we'll make that happen. A good beating never hurt anyone. Well, maybe it has, but tough, they are gonna get it.

G200, don't stray too far from the phone, I need you to go to TX in the morning to "handle some business", break them TX boys off a 'lil sump-n sump-n, have them come correct, a beat down: prop-a' like.

My advice to job-seekers: post your location, qualification, ratings, and EXACTLY what you are looking for. be specific. If anyone does this and qualifies for gigs around me I PM them and give them info. Dont be vague, dont be "regional guy facing furlough looking to change career for corp job in Midwest"....duh.....good luck.

Well....in that case.....

7000+ TT
6500+ PIC
4300 Turbine PIC
2900 Jet PIC
1 turboprop type, 3 jet types
Seeking corporate job in Florida...preferably Central/North Florida. No 135. Equipment unimportant....pay, schedule, and working conditions are all that matter.

Can ya help a brotha out?! :D

ROTFLMAO!!! HA HA HA HA! :)

That is one of the funniest posts ever. For about five seconds you had me going, too, I am ashamed to admit.

Bravo. :)

I didn't mean to do you like that. I wish I could help you out there.

If you don't mind me asking: What does your resume look like? Maybe you should send it to me and let a fresh set of eyes look at it. I have found that lots of guys shoot themselves in the foot due to their resume. Here is an Example:

Objective: To find a rerewarding and challenging position with a flight department that is steady and stable which will allow me to use all of my strengths to add to the growth and development of that flight department all the while safely flying an airplane that enables my flying skills to be honed with excellence.

Now, what's wrong with that objective? A lot of things but there are so many pilots that have no idea why that is so wrong. Here is what the objective should say:

Objective: Flight Officer Employment

That is straight forward and to the point. It's little things like that I have found to hurt some of these guys looking for jobs. Just a thought.........

Just a side thought on the whole resume thing... if you can bring a lot of experience to the table for a pure PT 91 corporate gig, (particularly that outside of the aviation industry), it might be worthwhile to send a CV in lieu of a "standard" pilot resume.

It's worked for me twice now...

My turn....

5100 TT
2500 Jet
3800 PIC
1400 Jet PIC
One jet type (LR-JET)
I'm ugly as a junk yard dog, but I'm somewhat o.k to fly with.
Looking for 91 gig in the great state of Missouri, preferably STL or KC (ahem...

Location close to ice rinks offering hockey leagues a must.

Muchas Gracias!

Hawker F/O's gonna send some 'hard, pipe-hittin' ******s down to TX and whip some cracker management a$$! :D TC

P.S.--Keep on postin'

Well then...hook a brotha up! Tell me about it. As long as the pay, working conditions, and schedule(not necessarily a hard schedule, but not flying 25 days a month either) are good....I don't care if I'm flying a G or a Citation. Of course...I'd prefer not to go to a non-apu aircraft....because I've gotten spoiled over the years. :D

Ok, here goes:

DFW area only
9700TT
3000 Jet
5000 Turboprop
2000 PIC (only 550 turbine)
3 type ratings (see left)

Thanks!
