My advice to job-seekers: post your location, qualification, ratings, and EXACTLY what you are looking for. be specific. If anyone does this and qualifies for gigs around me I PM them and give them info. Dont be vague, dont be "regional guy facing furlough looking to change career for corp job in Midwest"....duh.....good luck.

Well....in that case.....

7000+ TT
6500+ PIC
4300 Turbine PIC
2900 Jet PIC
1 turboprop type, 3 jet types
Seeking corporate job in Florida...preferably Central/North Florida. No 135. Equipment unimportant....pay, schedule, and working conditions are all that matter.

Can ya help a brotha out?! :D

Why didn't ya say something sooner? I didn't know all that. Ok, here is what I am going to do for you. I'm gonna make a phone call tomorrow and take care of this for ya. Then, to drive the point home, I'm gonna send some of my boys down there for a face2face, just so they know that I mean business. I mean, that's the least I could do for ya. My boys will take the CP out to the back alley until he sees things your way. Before I send them down, let me know how much you want to make, the days you are available to work for the next year (nothing too specific is necessary, you know, something along the lines of Tue-Thurs only, no weekends, 1st right of refusal on-call, etc) what airplane you are willing to show them how to fly, and what title/position you would like, and if you want someone's job, no problem, we'll make that happen. A good beating never hurt anyone. Well, maybe it has, but tough, they are gonna get it.

G200, don't stray too far from the phone, I need you to go to TX in the morning to "handle some business", break them TX boys off a 'lil sump-n sump-n, have them come correct, a beat down: prop-a' like.

ROTFLMAO!!! HA HA HA HA! :)

That is one of the funniest posts ever. For about five seconds you had me going, too, I am ashamed to admit.

Bravo. :)

I didn't mean to do you like that. I wish I could help you out there.

If you don't mind me asking: What does your resume look like? Maybe you should send it to me and let a fresh set of eyes look at it. I have found that lots of guys shoot themselves in the foot due to their resume. Here is an Example:

Objective: To find a rerewarding and challenging position with a flight department that is steady and stable which will allow me to use all of my strengths to add to the growth and development of that flight department all the while safely flying an airplane that enables my flying skills to be honed with excellence.

Now, what's wrong with that objective? A lot of things but there are so many pilots that have no idea why that is so wrong. Here is what the objective should say:

Objective: Flight Officer Employment

That is straight forward and to the point. It's little things like that I have found to hurt some of these guys looking for jobs. Just a thought.........

Just a side thought on the whole resume thing... if you can bring a lot of experience to the table for a pure PT 91 corporate gig, (particularly that outside of the aviation industry), it might be worthwhile to send a CV in lieu of a "standard" pilot resume.

It's worked for me twice now...

My turn....

5100 TT
2500 Jet
3800 PIC
1400 Jet PIC
One jet type (LR-JET)
I'm ugly as a junk yard dog, but I'm somewhat o.k to fly with.
Looking for 91 gig in the great state of Missouri, preferably STL or KC (ahem...

As for the word of mouth thing, once again, great minds think alike. I know of a job that is coming open in Kansas City this summer...
Location close to ice rinks offering hockey leagues a must.

Muchas Gracias!

Hawker F/O's gonna send some 'hard, pipe-hittin' ******s down to TX and whip some cracker management a$$! :D TC

P.S.--Keep on postin'

Well then...hook a brotha up! Tell me about it. As long as the pay, working conditions, and schedule(not necessarily a hard schedule, but not flying 25 days a month either) are good....I don't care if I'm flying a G or a Citation. Of course...I'd prefer not to go to a non-apu aircraft....because I've gotten spoiled over the years. :D

Ok, here goes:

DFW area only
9700TT
3000 Jet
5000 Turboprop
2000 PIC (only 550 turbine)
3 type ratings (see left)

Thanks!

I too am looking for work, so I know how the guy feels.

It sounds to me like he assumed because he lived in the area he had a shot at the job. If that was really true it wouldn't matter if it was advertised or how many people knew about it. I don't think he actually had an inside contact pushing him or he would have gotten the job.

Living in the area is not enough to get a job, unless it is someplace remote where people dont' want to move and if they do move they don't like it and quit soon afterwards. There's way too many pilots out there.

because I posted it here and that caused them to get a bunch of resumes from people more qualified than you and that hosed you out of the job then you should man up and at least have the ball$ to call me and discuss it when I ask you to. It's not my fault a company in a place where you want to live/work posts a job. I just pass it along, so others have an opprotunity to apply as well, so take that up with the company that posts the job, and not me. Had you just PM'd me when you saw the job somewhere else, you could have told me privately that you had a good line on the job and to please not post the job if I came across it. Instead, you took a gamble and did not do that. I am not an ASShole, so had you just done that, I would have been more than happy not post the job. Instead, you blame me for you not getting the job simply because I posted it here. I am not going to apoligize for doing that.

What's a guy to do? I'm just trying to look out for the good guys on here that want good work. I am not looking for a job, I'm content with what I am doing, but I know of some great resources for finding good fortune 200 jobs, and I like to pass them along to help a fella out, as I might need help one day and hopefully someone will be in a position to extend me the same courtesy. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be hurting anyone by posting decent jobs in hopes of having one of you guys get that job.

May the best man or woman, win. Keep posting the jobs man! Ignore the naysayers.
