So how does one become informed by your standard so that their opinion matters?
Since I have been a member of several unions before, let me explain how this works. Everyone has a say. Each persons say is as important as everyone else, even if it isn't the popular opinion.
What you are suggesting is a union in which everyone is required to join and pay dues, but unless your opinion aligns with the majority view than keep it to yourself. If this is the case then how would change ever be accomplished? Or is that what you are attempting to prevent?
Straw man arguments, so once again, you are WRONG. As an example, if you wanted to be informed you could volunteer to be a member of the p2p committee.
You may have been a union member once before, but things have changed in the last 20 years. ( true fact now attach a false statement). "Each persons say is important as everyone else." There have always been idiots. Some people just don't realize it.
And about membership, one again you are WRONG. The union also has to represent non-members and objectors. Its called duty of fair representation. And not everyone pays dues. They make payments somewhere else.
So once again you go down the list of talking points.
