anyone hear anything as to how they blew out all 8 tires?

The airplane was left on the runway until new rims and tires can be installed

Maybe they are going to get a hook up on some sprewells.

Yea, its a little thing called a parking brake! My guess is they had it set upon landing and BLAMMMO!!

Hi all,

The airport guy said: "There have been a few delays (at the airport) but nothing major," said Reynolds. "The airport was not shut down."

True, the airport wasn't shut down, BUT, there were 3 hour + delays. There was a ground stop program in effect, along with EDIC times and enroute holding most of the day. I wonder what it needs to be to be classified as "major"

Best,
Nu

Hey guys,

This is totally not relevant to this discussion, but I feel as though I need to say this:

LOVE THAT PHOTO JUMP PILOT!!!!!

Wow, I feel better now :D

Why thank you. It's one of my favorites.

Glad you feel better.

Mesaba had a captain land in DTW and blow out all the mains on a Saab on the old 21R. He went to NW, for awhile.

There was a CoEx ERJ that blew all the main tires on landing in EWR, and spun on the runway. I never heard the cause. Maybe the parking brake was set before landing?

No major delays? A friend of mine said she had an AM flight, but didn't get out of there until 8pm. She also said it was reported that another flight after FedEx also blew at least one tire on landing. Not sure about that one though.
